whats the story with derek, i cant believe wgs keeps playing jarosik in front of him- he's pure crap in my opinion + i think riordan should b given a chance. he proved with hibs that he can put the ball in the back of the net. + in a game like yesterday it would of been perfect to throw him in. whats u's think?

Jarosik is playing out of position to be fair...and as for Riordan he's not even doing it for the reserves so no way should he be in the 1st team.He has to earn it like everybody else and running to the papers won't help either

Another victim of the 'from big fish in small pond to small fish in big pond' syndrome.

Needs to do more to convince WGS he's worthy of a start. It's not good enough to say he did it at Hibs so he must be good enough.

Playing for Hibs is a lot different from pulling on the hoops, the weight of expectation can make lesser players struggle.

hardly the weight of expectation is making him struggle- he has'nt got a chance 1 way or the other ? i'd give him a go anyway 2 c what he can do. also is it just me r is sno very over-rated, after a couple of games we r now calling him the next edgar davids.... we won the reserve league + youth league 4 the past 4r5 years, im sure some player could of made the step up from 1 of them teams + done the same job, somebody like charlie grant????

You've made a couple of points there

Firstly, I know a lot of hibees who admit that although Riordan has the talent, he could be a lazy * at times. That will not be tolerated at Celtic, where you have to produce every week since we are expected to WIN every week. This is not the case at Hibs.

Secondly, the answer to your point about Sno is NO, he is not over-rated. How many 19 year olds could turn in a performance in the champions league like his against Benfica

    :fear:

No! Sno is fantastic so far IMO. Of course calling him next Davids is quite silly but... this guy is only 19 years old. I hope in a 3-4 years he'll be better than Davids :50:

btw. i never liked Davids :fear:

Can't really say Sno is over rated..Davids who said that??he is 19 and doing good job at the moment it's al about the potential with Sno..don't think he has looked out of place imho...I like Grant but whether he can step up to this level i don't know...Certainly not now anyways
When Riordan starts producing in the reserves than i will call for him to be given a shot....but tbh he looks pish there at the moment

people are on about the game against benfica- but what exactley did he do the made it so wonderful? i thought he gave the ball away quiet a few times + he hardly ever passed the ball forward? thats just my opinion- im sure we have young players at the club at the minute who could of done as well if not better.......

The main reason Jarosik played ahead of Riordan is for JJ's physical threat, especially when, like yesterday we're only playing one man up front.
Against Dundee Unt, JJ's physical presence whilst up supporting the lone front man caused all sort of bother for United's defence, and he had a hand in at least 2 goals.
Riordan isn't getting a game because he isn't performing in training at the same level as Maloney, McGeady, Pearson etc.
If he stays around, he'll get his chance like Sno, but it requires hard work on his part.

Its fair do's talking about physical presence, of which Riordan has absolutely NONE, but let's be realistic here. The way we are playing football at the minute, its not as if we're in need of a big strong target man, we play our football on the deck (for the majority of the time). For me, Riordan is a good striker and is clever enough to play along side Zurawski up front.

Especially when Jarosik is putting in nothing performance after nothing performance.

Saying that, i think he's shot himself in the foot by moaning to the papers. Id imagine he'll have to knuckle down and prove to Strachan he's willing to put the hard work and effort in (the way a lot of our own young players have done recently) if he wants to be given a chance.

i think we should give him a chance to prove himsel in the first team as he was suberb for hibs and he would also be playin with much better players here we should play him next time we play dundee utd, motherwell etc. or a smaller team in the scottish cup, league cup etc. if he plays weel then we can bring him on as a sub more often although i still dont think hes as good as beattie

i'd say him + gordon fell out. he has'nt had much of a look in since he signed, even in pre season he did'nt get much of a chance- i'd say he'll b gone in january. hopefully just on loan 2 get some games under his belt becausei think he could do a big job 4 us.

You would think that Riordan would get a chance on days like Saturday when we have injuries and are resting players. On paper, Riordan looks a better bet than Jarosic who is never a striker. So, WGS must have his reasons. Its either his reserve performances or they have fallen out. Does anyone know if Riordan shows up well in training?

i think jarosik will come good in the end but in the case of Riordan i just dont think he has done enough even in the reserves he looks poor and in the little first team action he has had he has done * all
