to be fair most youngsters just ain't good enough for the first team. most of their careers faded away anyway after they had left.

For me David Fernandez! i remember him having a really good pre seaon and then he faded...

i always thought the charlie mulgrew that came back from dundee utd shld have got a shot before he was sold. i thought back then, and still do, that he is better in midfield (wher dundee utd mainly used him).

For me not too many home grown players get a long stint in the first team but i would have liked to have seen simon ferry charlie grant michael mcglinchey play in midfield i watched them many times together in the youth teams and the reserves and they were very good i think they won everything at youth level and reserve level anybody know what happened to them.

Shay Given although he was a youth at the time. Rasmussen so far, Stephen Crainey who doesn't look out of place in the EPL, Chris Hay and Craig Beattie(mainly because of injuries. Also Ross Wallace

always thought Stephen crainey would be a great backup left back. always impressed when I seen him play but his subsequent career I guess proves maybe he wasn't that good... fine left peg

Not saying he was good enough or deserved more of a chance but think there's probably a case for this..

I remember Cillian Sheridan scoring two against Kilmarnock during what would have been our 4 in a row season.. I think both Sammy and JVOH were injured and can't remember too much about any other opportunities that Sheridan got because once big Jan was out of the treatment room he went straight back into the starting 11..

This was one of Sheridans goals.. Something we haven't seen much of since the days of Sutton and Hartson..

    gif of Sheridan goal

the great dane did,nt get a proper chance, he scored agaainst rangers as well, got off to a bad start against man utd, in a team he was chucked into, lets remember larssons backpass to chick charnley. what a dud he turned out to be eh?
