They should maybe be a bit smarter and try to avoid breaking a rule the next time though.

Like banners with political or swearing etc are banned but what happens if just by coincidence all the GB wore t-shirts which in the positions they were standing happened to spell out "* UEFA". Would they be able to issue a ban for that or would that just be unfortunate that people wore certain tshirts next to each other.

 

I haven't read all this thread but can someone actually explain what the point in the display was please?

if we are fined for tthis why are most british clubs not fined for wearing the poppy when its nothing to do with sport and is in my opinion a political statement

What? Celtic fans across all forms of media have been largely critical of that banner (apart from on here funnily enough) and now UEFA see fit to take action against us... again.

I don't want to see the club constantly charged and fined by European football's governing body.

 

Sarcasm isn't much of a hard skill to master either.

Not every post needs to be a big essay.

 

To be fair i only ask as your comment i quoted gives off the impression that you don't.

Basically saying why can you be jailed for singing about Bobby Sands yet there are monuments and statues of the "hero" William Wallace. Two people who were one and the same really. It carried on from the one against Aberdeen which was the same message about Irish Republican songs and Flower of Scotland, which again carry the same message yet we are harrassed about singing one, yet the other is the countries National Anthem.

So you could be a Scottish Republican who worships the likes of Wallace and you can sing songs all you want but Irish..... your gettin jailed ya * *.

Free speech must be something that UEFA have forbidden, can someone explain outside of Britain where else in Europe does this banner offended people??

 

What an utter joke if we get fined for that.

I wonder why nearly every national anthem isn't banned seeing as most of them are of an illicit nature and not in the spirit of the game.

Did UEFA fine Celtic for flying the Catalan flag when Barcelona played at Celtic Park? That's all political and nothing to do with football.

* why don't they fine Barca for flying the Catalan flag to begin with. A political gesture if ever I saw one.

 

Lets be honest, if the banner only showed William Wallace we wouldn't be getting fined. Which was the original message of the banner in the first place funnily enough.

 

If we get fined it will be worth it. Great banner.
