    Absoultely soooperb result:50:

I think with that win we can maintain the good performances in CL & finish 2nd, Manu are too strong & can't see them losing a game.

Well done to WGS & the team, had my doubts with 4 out, but didn't ey all prove they wanted to win a slot in the team:celt_2:

WKM was outstanding tonight again & deserved his two goals, Naka worked his magic after blowing out his a$$ for first 20mins, Telfer competed well, Caldwell & McManus had few shaky moments but managed to hold it together, the work rate from NL,SM & Sno was superb, & Magic worked his * off without any real chances, Pearson as always shows he's more than capable of causing damage.:84:

Roll on the next CL game, and can only get better with fully fit squad.

What a cracking Celtic match, YNWA was great as usual on Euro nights. Maloney should keep his spot in the team, and Pearson should be used more. And Kenny played great.

no doubt that was a strong performance (i didnt think we could come out like that with the injuries we had)
and wgs is answering everyone who called for his head last august
we have options at almost every position

but, we arent through yet, so lets not get too carried away

if man utd and celtic both win in 2 weeks, doesnt that put us both through with 2 games left?

While we should not get too carried away as we didn't make the last 16 tonight what a great night to enjoy. It's nights like that that live in the memory. Absolutely fantastic. Missing 4 regulars and what a stunning performance. Benfica are no Barcelona but they are no mugs either and were in the Quarter-Finals just a year ago so to play a good side like that off the park really is something special.

Great result and night, i just hope the players dont get carried away cos the job is not finished. We have been in this positiion in the CL before and failed to progress so the team has to stay focused. It was a great performance tonight and a similiar performance over there with VoH, McGeady, Grav and Wilson back hopefully will surely put us through though. Well done GS and the bhoys

If Celtic win away to Benfica and Man Utd take at least 1 point against Copenhagen, Celtic and Man Utd will both go through to the last 16.

Last night was brilliant and will live long in the memory. With that result I think the rest of Europe have now forgotten Bratislava and view us as dangerous opponents in the Champions League.
Our trip to Portugal in a fortnight will be a even harder than last night and if we can come through that tie unscathed i think we'll probably qualify.

    Keepin the faith:celt_2: :celt_2: :celt_2:

This match was the highlight of my week, had been looking foreward tae it fer soooo long. Not in my wildest dreams would I have thought we'd steamroll them like that!!! I just cannae believe how high we've gone, what a team we've got here! One of the best performances since the Seville run. We thoroughly deserved the win, even though they had a few chances. The most amazing thing of it all is that ALL 3 scorers were SCOTTISH!! Now think back to the MON years, when more often than not Jackie Mac was the only Scot on the pitch fer us. Look at this now!! A scottish player is joint top scorer in the CL, how much better can it get. I really can't remmeber the last time I was as happy as this, seeing the highlighst (couldnae see it live heer, but a channel shows fresh highlights only and hour after the mathes are over) and those goals made me as extatic as I've ever been. AND THESE ARE SUCH HAPPY DAYS!

Oh and by the way: "We will win in Lisbon - definitely," said Santos after the 3-0 defeat to the Scots in Glasgow. (BBC)

We'll hold ye tae yer word then ye sad * :56:

How could i have been so stupid?

What i should have said was:

79-94th minute: SwoopingVulture sits back and enjoys a comprehensive victory for the Hoops, including a surprise last minute goal by Pearo.

What a performance last night. Definately up there for me in our top CL performances. Along with 4-3 Juventus, 2-0 Lyon and 1-1 Barca.
