Marie, if a sensible and intelligent woman like yourself says she can't really argue with that, then I find that quite frightening. Sorry if that seems patronising because I have total respect for you so that was not my intention; but it's just blowing my mind that you guys think this is normal.

Sorry mate, I think you misunderstood. I am a massive fan of the group, and was at the George Square thing this season etc. I just mean that there is 500 odd pages of heated debate surrounding every aspect of fandom; identity, club association, match day atmosphere, parliamentary legislation, police intimidation and what is an acceptable way to show support all because of a small group of fans. You would think the GB were 10,000 strong going by this thread.

No worries....not offended at all.....it is petty that they will take them but....they are following the law of football stadia, and I'm stupid enough to take them with me.

Ah I see. The points you've mentioned just show that this has become an issue for the wider support as well as the Green Brigade.:50: Hopefully we can all move forward to resolve this.

No. Because she behaves like a grown up when she goes to watch football. And if she did feel the need to torch seats, or smash them up, or put on a balaclava and set off smoke bombs and flares, she wouldn't make a little gang website and stick pictures on it for all to see.

And at least if she did all that she wouldn't cry oppression when the police start taking notice.

Torch seats? Don't be so melodramatic. A seat accidentally caught fire at a youth game and was a totally isolated incident. It's out of order sure but lets not turn it into something it's not.

Did you go to the games back in the 80s and 90s Sween? Did you ever stand in the Jungle?

Let me tell you, the things that went on in there makes the GB look like playschool. However I don't recall any stories of supporters having their door chapped at 6am, or being met at the airport by plod after coming back from a family holiday or being kettled by 150 cops with batons drawn as we walked to the game.

You can continue to belittle the group and slag them for crying oppression but really, you are conveniently leaving out the stuff that makes them feel this way.

As for the pictures of "harrassment" a few pages back? Pish. A few cops looking at the contents of the tifo and congregating at the entrance to 111.

I am a big supporter of the GB but it might be a good idea to focus on the important stuff and not get bogged down in daft wee incidents like that.

All it serves to do is take focus away from genuine complaints and give detractors a stick to beat them with.

Lets be honest. If the GB are harassed why set of bangers? may not have been their members but they sit within the section so surely a member should say something.
Regards the Deodorant maybe the police/stewards think they will set light to it whilst spraying it.
And regarding the fact they are nothing like the jungle. They are also nothing like most ultra groups abroad. More madness happens abroad. Even an american ultra group is more nuts than them.

If the cops search bags and take smoke bombs of of people it's not actually harassment

    You're right.

High levels of frustration would be more apt :icon_mrgreen:

I've had to make my way to Celtic games after uni a few times and my bag got searched every time.
If the steward/police didn't have a quick peak then they weren't doing their jobs.

What's wrong with the bag searches?

Do people kick up a fuss when they're searched at gigs?
This isn't a Celtic problem, it's common security measures.

I think it's been well established that bag searches do not constitute harassment.
