Someone was saying supporters in Europe campaigned to get standing back and for better atmospheres and now theyve got packed stadiums all the time, why dont we do the same?

    Here the whole time
used to get in early and stand behind the white entrances in the celtic end, an unobstructed view, i am only a little fella. on the day the league trophy was presented in 88 there was a surge from the back,i got crushed against the wall and passed out. when i came to i was on a stretcher going passed the home dugout. gave big billy the thumbs up and he winked at me. happy days.

Biggest crowd I seen was the game v Dundee in the Centenary season. Think the official attendance was 70,000 but it was much more

Yeah, game we won the league. :50:

I was in the Dundee end, me and my dad sneaked in with our scarves hid under our jackets, helped by a few Dundee boys I must admit, fair play to them.

The game passed me by, I was only 9 and just remember being utterly stunned by the noise and colour of it all, just totally awe struck. YNWA with 5 minutes to go was just breathtaking, my dad in tears of joy and me on the shoulders of a big friendly Dundee fan. :icon_mrgreen:

I remember my dad saying to me : 'I want you to take all this in, I don't think you'll see it agan for a long time'.

How right he was, 10 years before we seen another title.

Think they meant there was 70,000 around the track that day :icon_mrgreen:

I was in the Jungle as per usual and it was always busy in there no matter who you played but that day in particular you could feel the squeeze on you ,easily 90,000 in Parkhead that day .Another one was Notts Forest ,European Cup ,said there was 67,000 ,my * ,well over that amount ,The rumour for years was that Celtic never counted the Main Stand in any games ,,a wee dodge .

Yeah easily!! and I think the official attendance given that day was 50,000 or sumat ridiculous like that lol. I actually thought i was gonna get crushed to death that day it was so packed. Remember being at the Real Madrid game years before this, it was an all ticket affair and the attendance was 67,000 it was sooooooooooooo much more busy that day against Dundee!!

The 70000+ at the Dundee game was a big up on the on the average of 20 odd thousand that season.

We were in the boozer with one of the mates on the cokes driving. When we got to the ground it was so busy we told him just to park anywhere.
5 mins into the game up came the announcement for him to return to his car to remove it. :bbpd: :bbpd: :bbpd:

Yeah I was a kid as well. I remember that game though with guys who had climbed onto the flodlights to watch it. We had to go onto the track after it all to exit it was so packed. Another game I remember that season was when we were 2 down to Hearts late on and McStay got us level. It wasn't the same when the seats were put in the jungle though

Would be great if there was a section for those that want to stand, I dont know how big that section would have to be though. I have heard alot of people saying they would love to bring the old terraces back. I think in this day and age it could be done safely.

thanks guys for the photos, brought back many happy memories.
lived in shettleston used to drink in the gartocher before and after
the match 5 pints for a quid.
popped in earlier this year and its a huns pub now:54:
the best part though as someone said earlier was you all
went to the game together wi your mates and stood together.
    not havin to split up.
and the atmosphere at big games was the best.

Would love to see the old terracing back again , would love to see all around the bottom of the ground terracing and the top all seated.
