I have wondered for a long time why we don't just invest in a Conference team (or lower), send all our reserves up there and watch them climb the leagues then when they get to League 1 or Championship move the whole club.

Have no doubt that our 60m+ a year turnover is mostly from non media sources such as gate receipts and merchandising. This would hold up for at least a few seasons while we used the EXTRA money we receive for media rights from the Championship to get ourselves into the Premier League. A 60 million plus turnover club will not stay in the Championship for long.

Yes- CThe Chamionship is a strong league- why should we have divine right to go to EPL first.
To spend 2 or 3 seasons would be good as we would need to adapt to-
    -Regular further travelling.
    -The English style of game.
We need to serve an apprenticeship!

I'd be delighted to get out of this bigoted country!

I would prefer us to start somewhere like the blue square premier and work our way up.

We could last without european football for a few years if we were having to start from scratch as the money on offer from tv compamies to fund the move would be more than enough!

So you're saying that players like Maj (Sweden captain) and Ki and Maloney and Brown and Kapo and McCourt and Hinkel and Kayal and McGinn are League 1 standard. *, nearly our whole squad is easily Championship standard. I think our squad is far, far better than Blackpool's and they're doing brilliantly in the prem.

very hard league, very underated and i would love to see celtic win it, but it would take years if ever for us to be a force in europe again with the competition for places being greater in england.

I would walk a mile on broken glass for Celtic to move to the English Conference.

No exaggeration either, we have to look at the bigger picture and if we need to start on the 5th rung then so be it. It would take us a maximum of 10 years to be a top side in the Premiership, 10 years is nothing in the grand scheme of things.

Under Strachan I always said no.... now, I think we'd need a season or two there to prepare for the requirements of a league as competitive as the EPL has become.

I always used to blast the EPL as a 4 team show but they've expanded to 6 big teams and an environment where even the small teams regularly steal points off the big (expensive) ones: Newcastle off of Chelsea today, WBA against Arsenal, I could go on if I cared to look it up.

Therefore, though I would prefer to go straight into the EPL, I think a season or two in the championship would strengthen us and forge us into a team to the point where we could make a true impact in the EPL.

The championship is *. Hugely overrated. Even its top half teams are full of ex-SPL players. I used to believe the myth that it was a great league but I watched a lot of championship last year and its not great. Certainly wouldnt give up 122 years of tradition and our own country to play in that league. Plus, we are a Scottish team and we belong in Scotland.

The Championship is the 5th richest league in world football for a reason, it is of a much higher standard than the SPL.

Why have Skippy and Boyd both flunked spectacularly down there when they scored hundreds and hundreds up here?

I'd give up 122 years of 'tradition' tomorrow for Celtic to play down South. For tradition read - playing in a country so backward in it's way that it doesn't actually want us to succeed and has set about corrupting officials and regulation to impede any success we might have. An opinion vindicated this week spectacularly.

I think it's quite optimistic to think that we'd definitely be in the EPL within 10 years.
