I agree a manager always requires time but i keep saying this over and over, hes already made so many mistakes. Celtic's budget absolutely blows every other team in the SPL out of the water Rangers and everyone else included makes our budget.

Its time to spend wisely in january, get a bloomin decent CB in like we have needed for almost 4 years, and a new keeper because i am not convinced by forster, he doesn't have the aura about him that is required and simply does not command his 6 yard box well for a giant. Mistakes have been made but thankfully for lennon there is still time to fix them, fix the problems and we will win the league, don't and hes out of a job simple as that.

If Tony Mowbray had been manager when we lost to Ross County, got pumped in Utrecht, got humped by Rangers at home and threw away leads at Parkhead against Dundee Utd and ICT I can't help thinking there would be a lot more people on here calling him a hopeless * and wanting his baws booted. Neil Lennon is getting an easier ride here because he's Neil Lennon.

It's not that I want to see Neil Lennon getting abuse, it's more that I hate the snidey ridiculing comments about Tony Mowbray. Apart from the fact there seems to be a bit more fighting spirit in the team this season, I really don't see anything in the Celtic team this season that is any better than what I saw last season. In fact this time last season Tony Mowbray had Celtic sitting top of the table!

Even if Neil Lennon makes a total * of it this season no doubt it will still be Tony Mowbray's fault. :87:

No, his SPL record is very good and we have done well in the league so far for a side with so many new faces, going through a sticky patch lets see how we get through it first before sacking the manager.. who would you get in anyway, midway through a season.. rangers have a threadbare squad, injuries and fixtures pilling up and a uefa run to negotiate.. we have brown and kayal to come back. I dont know why people are a so short sighted sometimes.. what this team needs is stability, no more chopping and changing and spitting the dummy when a few points are dropped, walter smith will be gone at the end of the season, you have to hand it to him he is a good manager but I still think lennon is a decent enough manager and in time could be a great one..

Spot on, I also can't see too much difference with this team and Mowbray's spinless team from last season!

You can't go out of the champions league at the first stage, go out of the europa league at the first stage, lose at home to your biggest rivals and fall 2 points behind despite playing 1 more game, drop consecutive points at home to Dundee and ICT and not get intense pressure on you.

I really want Lennon to succeed but it has to be said, so far, the signs are not looking great.

It angers me how imo this squad is a very good squad who have a mixture of talented players in, Lennon made good signings (with the exception of Daryl Murphy who I made about 6 posts whilst we were linked with him telling people he was no better than Sammy and a waste of money.)

Even in the post match interviews he says the right things but he isn't really improving it, we threw away the lead in the last minute of the game against Dundee at home with school boy defending and then the very next week ICT come here and we go 2 goals up and once again * defending gives them a point from the game.

If we lose to Rangers, I can't help thinking it's just a matter of time before he get's the chop.

Good post. I even would go a step further. Why do people act like Strachan's teams were so much better? in reality they played worse and boring football, but managed to grind out wins in combination with an abysmal rangers team in the first 2 seasons. his 3rd season looked very dark for a long time, but had an epic and dramatic twist and ending. his last season was as good as Tony's only season.

We haven't really played nice football for ages - except a few games under any manager.

Id rather have a decent squad and a team that imo aren't quite jelling, but saying that they are getting there and i think when they do were going to see all the flappers we seem to have as supporters wonder to themselves,s why they have needed a anti-depressant over the past little while, and it is a little while. It wasn't too long ago wee strach had us jumping around and trust me as most lifelong supporters of a certain age,"ahem"know this as do most swings and roundabouts. But we are on the swings most and im positive we will be on the swings this year as the scum,s games are mounting what with there superb who gives a flying * if the Europa now,as they have a few very hard games, not a squad,a team perhaps but 1 or 2 injuries,s they are soapy bubble and by then we will be playing better and this thread will become what it has been to me and thats a joke.HH have faith bhoys or is that a thing of the past as well?

Oh just so you dont get confused."i prefer the swings!!/lol

i hate to say it but i think rankers will sweep the board this year,we have took on smith on his final year with a rookie manager, who is making mistake after mistake and not learning from them.the celtic job is for an experienced man not a rookie, would love it if he turned it round but it aint going to happen i get the feeling this has barnes wrote all over it

Its not going to be as disastrous as Barnes, and the problem can be fixed, the team need 1 or 2 additions and then its time for Lennon to play the same team week in week out, we know what players will most likely play each week, hooper, Stokes, Ki, Ledley, Brown/Kayal, Forrest, Forster, cha, Izzy, Maj, the 11th player being guess what... getting a * quality CB in.

In whatever formation thats about our best team. Time to stop changing and get consistency on the park. Also i wonder is there a book in the library for beginners guide to tactics for dummies by any chance :) ?

I really feel sorry for NL. He was offered the job and who in their right mind would refuse it,he might never get offered it a second time. The mistake was offering a total rookie like Neil the job in the first place. If your looking to blame anyone , look no further than PL and JR. Until someone from upstairs starts making sensible appointments regarding our most important position at the club and treat it as they would in any other business model then we will never get out of this mess we are in. In the meantime Neil, although i dont think you should have got the job in the first place I support you 100% and everyone should get behind him and try and get our title back, if we dont then close season is the time for this kinda discussion

shocking to think a couple of years back we were in pole position to win 4 iar after beating them at ipox.and now we are struggling big time to stop them making it 3 iar,so big,big mistakes have been made by board and management,a club the size of celtic must always have experienced men in charge and not rookies, plus we spent peanuts on quantity instead of quality.the defence is a complete joke with only 600k spent on it and its the worst area of the team complete lunacy, its hurting me big time and others too as i just cant see lenny turning this round he hasnt got the know how to do it,and lenny was bullish as well saying i dont need anyone so board to blame big time.lenny could swallow some pride and get a davie hay type figure in to help him to save his job

Nobody hates Neil Lennon mate. It's just that some of us see definite similarities between this season and last season. Obviously that makes us nervous and worried about what lies ahead.

Nonsense - Tony Mowbray was given a lot of slack as well, there's even some fans out there that still believe he shouldn't have been sacked! He should have been chased out of the place long before that St. Mirren game but he was given slack because he was apparently a "Celtic man".

Lenny just needs someone with a bit of manager experience along side him.
What i personally think is that we need to give him a season and see how things progress and take it from there, he is a good manager with some potential to make things happen.
