we played our best football last season with him and n'guemo in the middle of the park then he was dropped when n'guemo went to the african nations. he's apparantly too lightweight, a liability in the big games - i seem to remember him doing just fine in the january game against them last year when we should have put about 5 by them. would definately like to see him given more of a chance, only run he's had he's done well. seems a nice bloke as well, if he does go then i'd wish him all the best

I think he's a talented player Barca wouldn't have put a clause in his contract to buy him back for a set fee and like someone said I think Lenny should put 3 in midfield.

I liked what I seen of him but dont think i've seen enough to say whether he's good or not.

To be honest, I never rated him much. I always felt he was a bit of a lightweight and not aggressive enough on the ball, even more than Ki, which is where the bulk of Ki's criticism seems to come from.

If 3 managers in a row always pick Brown and never pick Crosas BUT fans generally feel the opposite then you have to conclude that fans just see things on a superficial level compared to professional football managers. A lot of fans tend to have an idealised view of football that focusses on technical silky players and overlooks the fact that that is not everything (especially in Scotland).

In the SPL a LOT of steel is generally needed and i cant think of an title winning side that did not have at least one primarily tough rather than technical type player in the CM pairing. If three very different managers all used him sparingly then you just have to accept they know things the fans dont. Lenny as a former CM of a good level himself is going to make a better assessment of this than any fan. To me, Celtic fans often lack in football knowledge (due to many being attracted by non-football aspects of the club) and more than most fans buy into an idealised idea of the way football should be played, call it 'the Celtic way' or whatever. There is no other way to understand why 3 managers in a row were consistently at odds with fan opinion regarding Crosas, Brown, McCourt etc.

Got to agree. Ki looks like he is adding steel to his game and adapting to the Scottish game. I never thought Crosas dealt with the frantic nature of the SPL game very well. On top of that he didnt seem to have DM skills like tracking runners well. He is a problem player who iI think would actually need paired with a DM or a player who can track. However that would make our CM very static IMO with no box-to-box element. Ki IMO has a fair way to go in the defensive side of his game but he is clearly improving and looks like he could become an all-rounder CM of a type we have not had since Lambo.

In style though Ki actually reminds me a little of (this is going to be an unpopular comparison) Barry Ferguson. However, IMO Barry Ferguson was/is a very good player and a better all-round CM than any of Celtic's CMs in the last 5 years, something that is undeniable when you compare CVs and level they have played at when in England.

I have too agree with gunt Ki is starting to live up to his stevie g name tag now the he has found his feet in the Sphell as for crosas he would compliment Ki in the midfield nicely

I dont see any evidence of this. Hes a very average player who would struggle to get a game at any of the SPL teams. The fact that hes Spanish and came from Barcelona seems to make people think hes better than he is.

I would like to see Crosas/Juarez combo in some cup games.
Shame we are out of Europe, we have lots of players in squad that don't play Lennon would have to use them more.

Feel bad for the guy he's a pretty good technical player, don't really think he's ever been given a fair crack, probably time he moved on though, if he can't get in the team now when we've got 2 CM's injured he never will.

I like crossas, shame really we have too many CMs of equal ability, each with different qualities. The wee man just seems out of favour.

I think Crosas has been unfortunate. There was a spell last January under Mowbray when he got a good run of games as Brown was injured and i thought he did very well but then got dropped. He was the only Celtic player to put in a good performance against morton in the cup last year.
