Cheers for the messages of support folks. Much appreciated.Nice to see it's decent fans on here. We're all ok now. We all went for a quick drink after work and i took the girlfriend out for a meal after to relax and make up for last night. She's still a bit shook up by it. Can't see her wanting to go to another game anytime soon.

My mate's got a nice bruise today.Must have got hit harder than he thought. Again i can't see my mates wanting to travel up to all the games now. Their both Barnsley fans at heart but are die hard Celtic supporters too. We're telling me today that last night was the first time they had anybody starting a fight with them. That's even including the local derbies down here. I almost felt ashamed to be Scottish today when everyone was talking about it.

The ironic thing was that the only person that stuck up for us was a hearts fan.Was an older guy.I'd guess 50s or 60s.He tried to get them to stop but was told where to go or he'd get some of the same. Considering you could see our celtic tops under the jackets i though at least 1 Celtic fan would help but they all walked past and even some encouraged the neds.

I see some of the papers picked up on violence after the game. I was one of the ones who got a taste of the cs spray. They sprayed the neds but i still got a facefull. The police were good about it though. Even apologised for us getting caught up in it. They still took my details though but that was fair enough. Asked if we wanted to press charges but it'd have been more hassle having to travel up if it went to court or whatever so just left it.

I still can't believe it happened though. I was wondering today if the fighting would have happened if the green brigade hadn't ever shown those banners. If last nights anything to go by i think it's got a lot of the easily influenced fans really riled up. Protesting i can deal with but the violence is uncalled for. I don't know if i'll go to the next few games now. Might just lie low for a bit until this whole poppy thing has died down.

It does. Propoganda from the people that bitterly oppose it lead you to believe otherwise. Its a poppy, get over it.

Good job I didn't start learning my history from CD's then eh ? I don't even know what that has to do with anything.

Here is a quote from the poppy appeal website.

In 2009, we spent over £1 million each week carrying out our work among the serving and ex-Service community. But for every person we reach, there are many more who are still struggling alone. The demand for our support continues as Service men and women, young and old, call on us for emotional, financial and practical help.
Whatever you give will help us carry on with our work.

Now im pretty sure no one from the World Wars are still serving.:97:

The Poppy is a charity for the army.

It was on the radio earlier,a service man who had to quit in 1995 for family reasons, well his business went bust, and the poppy appeal helped him fit out his flat, from top to bottom.

Dont try and tell me the poppy is solely about remembering the World Wars.

If it was, there would be no issue, but as the Government has hijacked it,then i and many others will have an issue with it being on the Celtic Jersey.

    It is a charity case.
    Get over it.

the poppy appeal has always helped recently injured,or traumatized soldiers,i have always known that,i have always bought a poppy,it is my right,i have never heard, until the last 4 years or so , any debate within the fans, regarding the poppy,my father and his friends always went to celtic park wearing theirs around this time,as it was the thing to do,it wasnt controversial,it is a very recent hijacking on both sides, the right wing conservatives and the left wing ultras on our side that has made it an issue,i think it should be reclaimed from both of them.there is no place for the ultras on both sides who use it as an issue to beat the celtic name into the mud.the GB have tarnished the name of Celtic, and allowed every one with an agenda against our club to take a big stick to it,and it is a massive own goal at a time when we held the moral high ground against the sfa
