bobo signs new deal

on the cellic web site he has signed new four year deal

 

Undecided as to wheter that's a good idea.
Mind you he's young enough to learn from MON but he really needs some competition to fight for a place

I'm happy he's signed for another four years. I'll admit sometimes he does crazy things (i.e thinking he's a skilled football player) but he'd be a huge gap to fill (not just in a defensive sense) if he left, he also plays with a big heart and i know i'd miss his mad charges up the pitch with the ball, Bobo's also a great asset at set piece play and we don't really wanna lose any of the big guys for corner kicks etc. Hopefully MON can tie up some of the more scrappy ends of Bobo's game and I think we'll really see the best of him. Here's to 4 more years of big Bobo!

 

Glad he's signed - possibly only for the reason that if he does ok for next couple of seasons the time will come to move on but we will be in the position of a selling club as opposed to a club being held o ransom with pre conract agreements (maybe i'm to cynical)

 

I have mixed feelings about this but on the whole I am happy.

1st) Happy that I was wrong to call him a greedy *. If your reading this Bobo...sorry big yin. It is without doubt that Bobo could have got more money in the EPL.

2nd) With Varga, Bobo, Jackie, Honcho and Laursen I think we have a decent enough setup and we could make Didier work for his money further up if need be. Defo a decent defence.

3rd) We are able to retain players whom EPL clubs want. Okay maybe not the top 3 but other than that yes.

Must agree, I think it's a good sign that players want to sign on for multi-year deals and spurn the EPL at the same time. At times Bobo does tend to look as though he has his head up his *, but I believe this will boost his confidence and he'll only get better.

Just don'y get to carried away now now bhoys he's a gammy big * at times. He can stop the ball alrite but how many times have we seen him give it away again

 

i know but i don't think he's been focused on the job in hand the last few months, his mind was not in CP but now with a new contract i think he'll improve.

am glad to see he's staying. there's a lot to be said for someone who can exert physical terror on the pitch.

 

Excellent point, Dubs. I'm sure all the contract business affected his game. I for one think Bobo is a quality defender. And don't forget he was our player of the year not long ago. I think he has looked especially good in some of our Champions league game in the past few seasons. And with him sigining a prolonged deal and us also getting Henchoz our defence can only improve (and we have been keeping some clean sheets of late).

I'm delighted he's playin but agree with HH that its good that we at least look that we can compete with EPL clubs in terms of buying/keeping players.
Does it prove that we do have money to spend???
We are starting to look strong at the right time of the season too.
