Biggest Derby Match In The World ?

Just been watching Sky and Tim Cahill was talking about the Merseyside derby and saying it was bigger than the champions league final. We like to think we have the biggest derby match, or do we?

Has to be Old Firm derby. Lots of people have said it like Larsson, Hately, Van Bronckhorst. Theyve all played in big derbys and say old firm is the biggest

Certainly they are compared to the old firm derby. I think it would be interesting to hear Larsson compare the Barca Madrid derby with the old firm as obviously that is not a true derby in the sense of 2 teams in the same city but is still a derby due to the National, political and cultural aspects to it. The Boca River derby to me at least as an outsider looks like the most intense one after the old firm.

 

I would love to go to Boca vs River. Read an article about it in FourFourTwo and it looked crazy

 

dont want to be a stickler but barca and real aint a derby,, if your gonna put that in youve got to put man u and liverpool in,,, anyway none come close to the old firm,, lazio and roma would definitly be on a par..the way those fans carry on is unreal

 

Was obvious that everyone was going to vote for the Old Firm. Voted for Boca/River myself, the rivalry there is mad, and the fans are completely crazy! Want to experience one of them in my lifetime

 

I've got to disagree about Barca/Madrid. The history of the fixture and the political differences of the cities make it a derby for me. ManU/Liverpool doesn't come close imo

 

millan v inter millan no contest they have had tones of matches withheld then the people sent out and then the match played

But I have never been to a derby between celtic v rangers but

inter v millan

and

Celtic v rangers are the biggest

i think the old firm game has lost a bit of atmosphere in the last 2 yrs though the cis cup game at cp last season was gud the league games were a bit flat

 

for me most exiting are Wisla - Cracovia, Celtic - Rangers and Barca - Madrid

they're including all the teams i support since my childhood (except Fc St Pauli Hamburg)

 

I'm voting Old Firm but I'm gonna stick a mention in for Fenerbache/Galatasaray.

 

Boca and river plate are mad fer it but its got to be celtic and rangers. not just for the football but all the religeous (bollox) background aswell.
