I would only try and get him back if Forster has to go back

I'd rather have Foster he has settled in nicely.

as much as id love given at the club .. i dont like seein celtic as some loan club for big players

If given comes in jan and is a true celt, id like to think he'd sign a permanent contract come end of season. Hes had a good run in the EPL and theres no reason for him not to prolong a gd career at celtic.

Agreed. Either that or get Given on a long term contract some how, maybe if he truly was a fan he would welcome a pay cut to play for us. Otherwise I'd like to see Forster or Westwood sign on for the long haul.

    Too many to name.
All the deluded hanging on to names like Given, Keane and Bellamy should end now! We don't need any of them and should disregard any media mischief making too. Keep it real and allow Lenny to rebuild, he's doing a cracking job so far.

I am hopeful that whoever is in goal for us will be a long term signing. If our current loan deal goes back to his club in January, then we must sign a permanent replacement. This team is being built successfully and loan deals are not the future. There are some quality goalies around, get one in on a long term deal.

Celtic desperately need a new goalkeeper in January, with Fraser Forster expected to go back to newcastle in the New Year after Steve Harper picked up a serious injury.
Wouldnt mind giving zaluska another chaqnce think he is a good keeper just needs his confidence back and being on the bench is sure to reignite his hunger

Would rather use money wisely and get Forster tied up on a permanent deal, than shell out crazy wages or loan fees for short-term loan signings.

Forsters not put a foot wrong really and I can see him being Englands number 1 in a few years. If we sign him he have a solid keeper with massive resale value.

Given will only come on a short-term contract, and will be our best paid player. When he leaves we'll have less cash, no keepers and no resale

Out of Given and Forster no competiton for me. Forster is a better buy.

Having said that though, if Shay was to surprise us and take a massive paycut and we could get him on a permanant contract I'd say him but thats not going to happen.

I think if we are still going really well in the league and cups then I think a cheeky wee bid is a must.
How much would you think is fair? I'd say maybe 1.5-2 million. The lad has a great future ahead of him

Splash out on Forster imo. 2/3 million he is defo worth it. Looks like a great wee loan deal we have on our hands here. But I think Newcastle will want him back.

i was talking to forster after one of the recent games
newcastle can recall him in january and they are likely to do so even if harper is fit
forster is in their 25 man squad for the season which must mean that he is in their plans

I agree, he seems very confident and can command his area well. He has made quite a few great saves as well when asked. If we can't get him, I would go after Westwood obviously unless Shay Given was willing to take a huge pay cut and play for us on a long term contract.
