    Rirodan Vennegoor

Thats who id go with id choose Riordan over Miller because of the obvious problems with Miller and over Zurawski cos in the last few few games it seems like his hearts not in it. Riordan was a 20 goal a season player at Hibs, hes got to get a chance.

nakamura will show his best qualities in the champions league when he gets more time on the ball it will be easier for him to pick the passes which he somtimes doesnt have the time to do in the SPL.

I say that because i dont think Jarosik has proved himself yet, Grav is an automatic pick and Maloney and McGeady should be our first pick wingers.

We could also play differet systems, like:

    -----------------Boruc---------------------

    Wilson----Balde-----McManus----Naylor

    ----Jarosik----Gravesen----Naka--------

    ---Maloney-----VoH------Zurawski------

.....with plenty of different options we could play around with, McGeady, Pearson, Miller, Beattie. All in all it looks to me like we have one extremely strong squad!! :celt_2: :shamrock:

this would be my 4-4-2,home games

    ----------boruc

    wilson--balde--mcmanus--naylor

    naka--jarosik--gravesen--maloney

    ------hessilink-zurawski

away from home, against real in europe

    ----------boruc

    wilson-balde-caldwell-naylor

    ------lennon--gravesen
    nakamura--jarosik----maloney

    ----------hessilink

a good team that will concede few goals and retain possesion well.Which is paramount in europe

oh! kennedy would come in and play alongside balde,if he makes a full recovery.

Is what a brave man would do but from what I've read Gravesen is too attack minded and needs a ball winner to clean up after him. In fact the only midfielder in our team with a good defensive mentality is Lennon. It will take a lot of work in training to get our tactics right but its very important not to let our midfield forget their defensive duties.

Caldwell over McManus? Not a chance. Caldwell makes too many mistakes that Macca doesn't and he's not as good in the air (goals!).

GS said he needed a striker - he got VOH.

We all knew we needed a LB - we go Naylor.

And Petrov was unhappy - so bring in Gravesen!

The squad is looking very strong IMO and I can't wait to see how we will do with Grav involved as well. The Champions League ain't too far away and GS will have a headache as to who to chose against Man Utd!! But a headache I'm glad he has!!

Thats my 1st choice but Maloney, Kennedy and Miller would all see action for me. They probably will with our schedule coming up. CL, League cup and the Huns.

             Hesselink Zurawski
All players fit, this is my preferred starting lineup.

Nakamura isn't playing well as McGeady and Maloney should start when back from injury because of last season's form.

McManus is good for a goal from set pieces but im sick of him launching the ball from the backline aimlessly to the far end. Caldwell can read the game better thus make better passes and is more comfortable with the ball.

The rest of the team selection speaks for itself

I completely agree with you about Mcmanus. Caldwell and Balde would be a far better combination. Caldwell is our best defender on the deck.
Would still start with Naka tho.

Nakamura in the CL wont get more time on the ball.

Benfica were able to keep players like Xabi Alonso, Steven Gerrard, Wayne Rooney very quiet when they wanted to. Do you think that they'll give Nakamura an inch?? Man Utd are more than capable of doing the same.

If European sides want to man mark, get physical, you can be sure they'll do a better job than SPL sides
