Alright lads! me and the mates have decided to go on a holiday in the sun next june or july. Starting the saving already but where were going isnt definate.

Crete and Santa Ponsa seem the main options and was wondering for any of you's who have been there can give me good points on each.

So far ive heard rumours of Santa Ponsa being a bit dangerous for the irish with english lads always looking for a fight but dont know how true that is!

    Responses much appreciated lads!:50:.

not that many english in santa ponsa, they all go to magaluf, i loved santa ponsa when i used to go wi mates, not as busy as it once was tho, think its quite expensive to go there compared to other resorts for some reason.

plenty of night life in SP aswell, and magaluf isnt far away for a change one night

Crete, was there two years in a row and was great each time. I stayed in Piskopiano and its a very irish area. I even had great craic in Malia which is predominantly english.

Been to ponsa, mates been to crete

we have both been to ibiza

    IBIZA HANDS DOWN

its absolutely unbelievable!! Dont listen to the rumours of it being expensive!! The island itself never sleeps and thats a true statement. we went for a week, i ended up staying 3 weeks as other mates were coming out. Ponsa is alright i suppose, i go on holiday to meet new people not to meet irish/celtic fans, if i wanted to do that id go to galway/glasgow.
its full of plastic paddies i felt and irish bars, whats the point if your irish, going on holiday to spend your time in irish pubs and resorts

I was in Crete this year and really enjoyed it. Lots of Irish bars. If your wanting a mad night out then you have Malia and if your wanting somewhere a bit quieter you have Stalis. Really friendly people aswell.

I'd Suggest Ibiza like someone else mentioned if you're going with the lads.. I've been to santa ponsa a few times and enjoyed it every time.. Alot of good celtic pubs, tons of Celtic fans.. The last time I went i saw 1 rangers top the whole time and like thousands of Celtic tops.. I spent alot of time in the Shamrock Bar, every night theres Irish bands playing.. Great banter and Magaluf is like a 10 minute drive away aswell :50:

    i still recommend Turkey

nice country, dirt cheap, only seen 1 Irish bar where i go but, alcohol is cheaper than soft drinks over there, and when i was there during the summer it was 50 degrees one day :)

Been to Santa Ponsa the last 4 years, and always had a great holiday, definately a bit quieter this year and more english but could have just been the time of year, but there is loads of pubs and restaurants up for sale, and a few people in the pubs said it had been a quiet year.

Flamingos to watch the game and Shamrock & Dicey's for a good bevvy and live music :50:

Ibiza for a change next year for us I think.

totally agree. Its retarded if you are British or Irish to travel across the continent and spend all your time in British or Irish style bars full of British or Irish people. Never did travel to a place just for the weather and simply to get pished and chase minge though.
