Well lads, i know i've been away for long time. Between studies and job i have no time to do anything fun :(... but well, today I was listening to some dropkick murphys songs, and a friend who was with me asked about the "Erin go brach" moto, so i started to research, and I found this:

Saint Patrick's Battalion - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

in case you dont want to read it, it is about an Irish batallion who fought with Mexico in the war against the states in 1847.. dammn i didn't knew that, back in that time people considered that squad as fellow catholics aiding other catholics, quite a big history bound in here, proud to read this info

I was thinking about posting this some while ago. :50:

I went to see the following plaque commemorating these soldiers at San Angel in Mexico City a few months ago:

    Very interesting story I think.

"In memory of the Irish soldiers of the heroic battalion of St Patrick; martyrs who gave their lives for the cause of mexico during unfair invasion of north america in 1847: the all the names and at the bottom it says: With the gratitude of mexico at 112 years of their sacrifice September 1959"

It is difficult to notice though. I almost did not see it when I was walking around the square (it was indicated in my tourist guide) and the locals did not seem to understand why I was paying so much attention to it.
