    don't think this is a good move for us as a club mabe for the young players who get the chance to come over and train with celtic it will be great for them but not us

    if you had said we are doing this deal with a club in america or even brazil, or the so called link with this santos laguna side from mexico then it's a good move

    but hey if it makes a few young players dreams come true and come train with a great club like ours it's somthing they will never forget....

    Im not sure about this at all besides cricket India are notoriously bad at sports heard on the radio the other day that in the whole history of the olympic games theyve only won 6 medals or something an most were for hockey just hope im wrong but think this is more for commercial reasons

    It's to spread the name about a bit. I honestly can't see us picking up an Indian player anytime soon, but, you never know.

    We may be able to find someone useful. SOMEBODY in India must be better than Brown.

    HAIL HAIL!!!:celt_2::celt_2::celt_2:

    No harm in it I suppose. You never know we might find a decent player.

    think this is a great idea tbh. one of the most densely populated areas in the world, there is bound to be a couple of guys with some potential.

    I don't think they're really doing this to bring talent into the club. It is more some kind of outreach programme to get broadcast the Celtic name over there. He said they have marketing directors in the USA, Canada, and some other places as well. That's what Lawwell was saying most on C67. He didn't emphasise that maybe we could break a young Indian player into the first team at all. Football is MUCH less popular in India than it is in the USA. Cricket and field hockey take major precedent over there. Indians are just now sort of becoming football top fans, but of course the EPL teams are the most popular. This is just putting Celtic on the radar.

    I think the problem with Ireland is the epl has a eye on it aswell and when it comes to fighting off the epl teams we are really up against it....tho it does happen from time to time.
    I'm not sure many teams are looking to india for players but i could be wrong and it might just be no one has been spotted yet,so we might get a head start on other clubs if we are lucky.
    Only time will tell on this little adventure for celtic.

    OK who will be first to moan it being a shirt selling thingy ma bob.:97:
