He'll always be an impact player, other than the goal yesterday he offered * all.

I dont agree with people saying hes just an impact player,he can rip people whether they have been on the pitch 9 minutes or 90 minutes. Look at the confidence he had to chip the keeper yesterday, well imagine if lennon showed more confidence in him and started him all the time. He would be score more than ten a season

Whether paddy starts or comes off the bench i'm glad he is part of the squad, more than just a dribbler he is an intelligent player and packs a great shot, i look forward to more moments of genius throughout the season.............:shamrock:

would like to highlight the fact he got back into his own box in the last few minutes then played a beautiful pass to cha and the 'paddy mccourt's * army' chant after his goal was probably the best rendition i've ever heard :icon_mrgreen:

His vision and weight of passing are vastly under rated but anyway, if all he ever offers is the beating of 2 centre halves and a chip over the keeper that's all we require from him.

Does anybody else think if it wasn't for his lack of fitness he would be playing at a very high level?

The lad is one of best techinal footballers I have seen play for Celtic in my lifetime, just goes past people like they are not there!!!

Hopefully start a few games now

    I agree Markey.

If Paddy McCourt had the engine to do what he does for 90 minutes, he wouldn't even be at the club and would be picking up a ludicrous amount of money at a really big club.

That's how you know, there's issues with Paddy somewhere. He's primarily an attacking player, so tracking back shouldn't always be a problem if he's deployed correctly. There has to be something up with his fitness.

He dosn't just score wonder goals consistently. He dose track back and defend. In lack of pace he makes up for with his ability to read a game and make the right/killer pass. IMO He should be starting. If a player goes by him then theres a DENFENCE behind him. there job is to defend. Paddys? to attack. I'm sure he played for 90mins in a pre season game and looked fine. Anyone who says he cant defend though is havin a laugh. Its just his fitness that seems to be the cause for concern thats it. Theres no doubting he is special. You cant teach what he has. Its a gift, it really is.

Got too agree with this. He must be frustrated knowing his talent but knows he will not play at a very high level becuase of his fitness. He can pass, shoot, dribble, and ride a challenge pretty mcuh all you need for a world class winger.

Yeh i hate it when a player comes on second half when we are already 2 goals up, then he skins two players and chips it over the goalkeeper.:97:

Paddy was unluck with his "whiplash" injury, i beleive he WILL play himslef back into the starting 11, and with a strong mobile midfield in Kayal and Juarez he is a luxury that we can afford......
