    cheers. I am not the sort of person who usually gets OTT emotional about famous people that I dont really know but Tommy Burns is kind of the exception. I cant think about him without getting a wee bit of a tear in the eye. The only football person that does that to me. I always thought there would be a fairytale ending and he would have a 2nd spell as gaffer and win the SPL. Didnt happen but its a consolation that he was in the dugout with WGS's for nearly 3 years in a great period and experienced title wins and a couple of last 16s.

    Lets say he did win the league because Gordon Strachan and the Bhoys dedicated that league title to him ,Tommy's death spurned them on to win it.

    Just watched the second disc (2 part DVD) and his after dinner speech is brilliant, just a genuine person. It takes a lot to get me emotional outside of family, but watching that over 2 nights had me welling up tbh.

    It's easy to look up to celebrities and admire them for whatever good they do, but Tommy Burns was more than a celebrity, he was a fantastic human being, and as people have said, if we all aspired to be like him it would be a wonderful place.

    * Bless Tommy Burns, a legend among legends.

    I think above all else his passion for Celtic is the thing we all relate to, it seeped out of him in everything he did how much Celtic and everything the club stands for meant to him.

    * Bless TB.

    TBH he was a decent player but he wasnt say a Paul Mcplayed at a time when Scotland had a * of a lot of talent and loads of people at a high level in the top league in England. In fact SPL players in general tended to ignored a lot of the time in the 70s and 80s. Rangers fans used to cpmplain Davie Cooper rarely started for example.

    Grew up watching his team, and they played great football. Entertaining and exciting.

    He has left a great legacy with the players he brought thru.

    Great dvd.Great man!!

    Does anyone have any tales of Tommy Burns, from when they met him or heard him talk. I bet he was a great guy and a great laugh. I like hearing that sort of stuff, especially about him or Big Jock.
