He was a legend among our keepers. He might have even been better than Simpson, I don't know. But Simpson will always be known for being a Lisbon Lion. If we had Boruc in goals for the game in Seville, we might have even won it. Its not fair to compare him to players who weren't even goalkeepers.

He's a legend to me. McStay is a LEGEND to me, and not to others, because they could only be arsed to watch the tapes of him in his later years. Let people feel the way they want to about players.

Obviously everyones entitled to their opinion, although if Boruc was world class he surely wouldve been chased by better clubs than Fiorentina, who as you say already have a very good keeper.

Like I said, people rate Boruc as being better than he is, purely because of the anti-rangers stance he took.

i agree with Minty, losing his father plus too many games of hide the sausage with loose women would affect anyone and their career .

I'm afraid i do not care how much he wound up our rivals. His ability spoke volumes. And yes he had blunders but every keeper does.
Unfortunately in last few years his personal life hit the skids and his game suffered at times and unfortunately as it gets back on track we decide that is the time to sell him. Leaving us with what exactly?! Thats right Mr Zaluska that half the support seemed to think was a perfectly good backup to Boruc!!

seen pre season highlights fiorentina v valencia and artur has lost at least a stone in weight and he was * hot that game i used to think he was a legend as well but when i really thought about it its mostly his mistakes i remember .of course he had some really excellent games some of his howlers were beyond beleif.he isnt nearly as much of a legend than packie bonner.but thats just my opinion

When did Boruc's form detereroate for Celtic. Think it's a complete misconception only because he played a couple * manky mob games and made a few howlers. Something which all World Class keepers do, it's easy to remember the big mistakes and forget all of his world class saves which saved us points time and time again.

Let us move on. Even if he would have been better than what we had in goal for the start of our season. Is gone, he's gone. He's a hero who put in some legendary performances and should quite rightly be held in some great regard. But lets not go down to wishing him back. Its gone.

Exactly, the revisionists amongst our support cannot change a thing nor his legendary status.

Putting in some legendary performances, and being a club legend are two different things.

If you put Boruc into the catergory of a celtic legend, then almost any good player would also have to be thrown in there. Legendary status should be for the true heroes who had the ability to pick the club up when we're down in the dirt, a player whos class and ability is unquestioned. I cant remember too many in my time as a celtic fan, obviously Larsson, perhaps Lubo.

There have been some brilliant players, Sutton, Hartson, Di Canio, PVH - but legends only come along once in a blue moon. In 50 years I cant see my grandchildren talking about Boruc, they will talk about the king of kings.

This is my point, too many fans throw the term legend about too loosely, it undermines the true legends of this club.

Boruc was the best goalkeeper Celtic have seen since Simpson, makes him a Celtic legend in my opinion. Hard to notice a keeper 'pick up a team when it's down in the dirt' but Boruc did much more than you think. And you all will begin to see that this coming season and regret his departure.
