Think we have a right to be very angry dissapointed and saddend by last night but sacking the board, manager etc is not the answer what we need is stability and a plan to move forward with the backing of us the fans we can not expect instant success our team has been tore to shreds through lack of stability and its gona take time to rebuild lets win the league this year and build on that

Definite over reaction, what gives celtic the * given right to win every game. Answer is we don`t and have to go out and play at our best to have a chance, which is something we didn`t do last night and we know the result.

The reaction of some people is over the about getting rid of such a player and sack the board, get a grip. The problem is we need time for Neil Lennon and his players ( the ones he signs and those currently he chooses to keep)to work together and most of all trust Neil Lennon to put everything right that went badly wrong last night. Europe was a side issue for the main focus of the club this season, league title is a must not because of what happened last night or against braga.

I understand how frustrating and dissapointing last nights result was, it might suprise some people but pretty sure those players last night feel the same too. It`s serves as a reminder that we still aren`t the finished article, despite the promise showed by perfomences in the league. The important issue now is sunday at motherwell, a difficult game against a side well organised by craig brown. Hopefully those fans in attendance give the team backing and in return for this the team supply the fans with a better performance than shown last night.

The fans have a choice to make here be patient continue to trust Neil Lennon and his squad of players or not. If not then it could be back to the bad old days of a new manager every season ( lou macari, liam brady, and then Dr Joe, John Barnes/Kenny Dalglish).

Thought we weren't supposed to talk about history? And 'expect' is the key word here. Too many people 'expected' victory after a few good performances, forgetting that far better Celtic sides have been gash away from home. 'Cautious optimism' fine. The arrogance of expectation is something typically associated with certain elements of the Rangers support, and nothing I want anything to do with.

Repeatedly telling ourselves 'we are a big club, we are a big club' will not solve anything and its quite frankly, a bit sad.

Proving it on the pitch by going into each European tie with a humble but confident determination, as displayed by Utrecht last nite, would be much preferable.

Like i said before... the performance was terrible! But that happens! To every team! We're outta europe and that's crushing, but i still think we need to press for domestic superiority before we get weighed down by european! We're only a dozen games into the pre-/season and we've been altering the team continuously! Give the signing time and definately the manager. We've no * given right to win, but we're showing signs of getting to that! Keep the faith - and (like me) feel disappointed, but not full of rage when it goes wrong, cos if we get on the teams back, along with all the other supporters and all the media then we'll have another disasterous season!

All of you saying that Celtic fans have no right to think we should be beating a team like Utrecht should get a *' grip. I take it none of you are parting with your hard earned cash for an extortion Celtic season ticket. Maybe if they charged the same as Utrecht for a season ticket I wouldn't mind so much, but they don't.

Why don't we just settle for third place in the SPL while we are at it. * sake lads, Seville was only a few years ago and now we have no right to think we can get through against a 6th place Dutch League side.

I posted this in another thread...............
This defeat has really hit hard, just when it looked like we've turned the corner a crushing blow last night.
The manner of the defeat was particularly hard to swallow and didn't expect that from a Neil Lennon team.

The priority is the league but that doesn't hide how embarrassing last night was and it's hard to stay positive. We have got to be competing in Europe and failure to qualify for the Europa League has got to be a new low.

Lennon and his ten new signings have got to be given time but Cha Du Ri had a nightmare equivalent to Mulgrews in Braga!
The withdrawal of Brown sums it up he's not a leader on the park and should be stripped of the captaincy!!

It shouldn't be glossed over, the players and the manager deserve to criticised fully and it ranks as one my most embarrassing nights as a celtic supporter.

So no it's not an overreaction!!:shamrock:

Believing you have the right to beat somebody means nothing. Perhaps the stock of Scottish football has fallen to the level where the 6th team in Holland is equivalent of our top two. We are now behind team from Azerbaijan in the coefficient apparently. And I couldn't care less about what percentage of ur income goes towards a season ticket, because nobody holds a gun to ur head and makes u buy one. If you believe that the levels of success should be measured by how much ur ticket costs, then why support Celtic...support Chelsea, or Man City or somebody.

Me, i'm gonna continue supporting Celtic and hope that things improve rather than pretending that my own anger will result in them qualifying for Europe.

I can see what people are saying when they criticize the manager and players. It was one of the worst displays and results in our history.

The board's strategy and the managers tactics ccab be questioned for the unexceptable posision the Club is in just now, and some of the players are just not good enough!

I'm not a fan of DD and as he is the top man at the Club, he should imo take most of the blame....and not just for last night.:54:

I agree. This stuff about if you blame the board for anything, you aren't being Celtic faithful is RUBBISH. They own the club!!!!! The financial decisions they make DO HAVE AN IMPACT ON OUR RESULTS. I love Celtic, but I feel that the board does need to be criticised!!!!!! End of! They're a bunch of businessmen!!!!! We expect that they find a way to provide the finances to give us a winning team! And that's too much to ask?? You question our faithfulness to Celtic?????????? GIVE ME A BREAK!! Lawwell, Reid, Desmond, the lot of them, ARE IN PART TO BLAME! Same with Lenny and the Players! That's just the way it is!

We love this team! We want to see them do well! How can you fault us for that????????? GIVE ME A BREAK
