    Your absolutely right, but it * annoys me the way people have a go at Telfer when he was only brought in as cover in the first place. Until we sign a decent left back he is our best option.

    cover leaves at the end of the season....it doesnt become a permanent team member especially when its due to draw its pension

    I'll probably come in for some stick on this but I think Paul Telfer is one of he worst players ever to have wore the hoops. The guys is pure mince. He can't defend. If he plays against a fast player he's usually left standing. Personally, I would play Wallace, Pearson (Why not, he fast and tyoung - give him a go) or even Mulgrew. I heard he didn't have a good pre-season and he's had a bust up with Strachan but needs must. We're a big club, and Mulgrew seems to be the only natural LB at the club.

    FFS do you not remember wee Rosco at LB last season. I don't want Telfer in the team and the sooner we sign a left back the better, but he is the best we have at the moment. Perhaps if we can't find a left back we should look at changing the system, maybe going with 3 at the back and pushing Wilson up one.

    Cover is there for cover, and is only replaced when someone better comes along. This has not happened yet.

    Im all for that dude, but do we even have 3 fit cb's just now??? When Balde or Kennedy comes back sure, but for now just wish we could get shot of Telfer - He's rank!

    yeah telfers not up to standard but for * sake give the guy a break. he knows as well as anyone else his limitations and i dont think he expected to still be in the side. the fact remains though that he currently is due to ur squad being incredibly weak at the back. all we can do is hope like * that we get in a decent left back before the deadline and then this is no longer an issue. i dont see what the problem with strachan playing telfer is to be quite honest. i would hav liked it sorted a * of a lot quicker but as was previously said he was brought in as a temporary measure untill we got someone better which to date has not happened. incidentally how many of the folk screaming about us not signing kadlec have actually seen him or naylor play? how come the czech leagues so much better than the championship? certainly in terms of turnover of the clubs, wages, attendanaces and tv revenue theres no comparison.

    Im not sure about Naylor or Kadlec either but surely the Celtic board wouldnt wanna pay aover a million for Kadlec if he was pish? I know we signed a few £1m+ duds but surely not this time. As far Naylor don't like the sound of this guy one bit. He got a kneww problem and he was understudy to Mo Camara at one point. Doesnt fill me with confidince!

    What are you talking about? Who was he covering for? Agathe was booted out from the first game.

    Cover means you are 2nd choice for a position in case the no.1 gets injured. So tell me, who was Telfer playing 2nd fiddle to? He goes straight into right back when he's fit. That's not covering, that's 1st choice.

    He was brought in as 1st choice right back and did alright in a very weak league last season. Now we have bigger fish to fry and if you think Telfer is the best right back in our team, we're in BIG trouble.

    fact is telfer wasnt bought as cover he was bought to replace agathe who would have been a far better proposition.....but then telfer is strachans golden child

    He was signed as cover for Agathe but Didier couldn't be bothered getting himself fit so he was shunted. Who is Agathe playing with now?

    Wilson is the best right back at the club, the problem is the left back position. The only man good enough to play there is Wilson, hence Telfer at right back. It's not rocket science, when we sign a left back, Wilson will go to right back and Telfer will be cover for Wilson i.e. not getting a game unless injury or suspention rules Wilson out.
