    the more i think about it, if we DONT sign someone like keane, or keane himself, then we`ll be strugglin big time, the chances we made yesterday were good but not putting them away was worrying.

    Probably not. But while the window is open there will continue to be speculation. He doesn't want to go to Newcastle and the Hammers fans don't seem too confident going by this forum.

    West Ham - A Striker Light?

    For all the spending we`ve done this close season, I can`t help thinking we`re still desperately short of quality up front.

    Having let Mido, Ilan and Franco go, we`re left with Cole, Piquionne and McCarthy to smash them in.

    Now we all know that Carlton is quite capable of that but as for Piquionne I remain unconvinced especially with Avram decreeing that when we go to difficult places like Old Trafford it`ll be one man up front and one man alone.

    As for Benni, unless he sheds that weight, supposedly caused by a sugar addiction, he`ll be nothing more than an expensive passenger.

    Therefore it is pleasing, as the transfer window closure approaches, to see us linked with another prolific scorer in Robbie Keane, although our chances of landing him look to be getting slimmer by the moment.

    Firstly, we have Avram remarking,

    "The club has big debts but he`s a player I would like to get."

    And secondly because the player seems keen on returning to score for fun in Scotland with a second loan spell at Celtic proving an attraction he`s keen on!

    Come on Avram, time is running out and we`re short in the striking department!

    if we can get Keane on loan then brilliant.The rumours seem positive.Who Knows?
    i would still prefer Itay Shechter this season but that looks highly unlikely...maybe try again and get him in January.
