    Alright guys!

What's the buzz like back home with respect to all this lack of transfer money? I am missing it all out here in Toronto.

Reading on here people don't seem to confident about this season which is shocking as we won the league and are straight through to the Champions League. Also I am seeing that on followfollow.com (who have just accepted me on their forum after several usernames were turned down as they don't let anyone other than Rangers fans on) are VERY confident about PLG and the coming season despite having their lowest finish in how long last season...?

I would consider Jarosik a good signing, need more players like him coming through the door

Personally I feel Magic has a lot to prove. I think him and Miller will suffer unless we get a target man.

sick of hearing folk say we've gone backwards in the close season. we've lost keane, 12 games, and hartson who clearly didn't fit into the style of play we now use under strachan. on the other hand we've brought in jarosik, caldwell, riordan and miller. ok things arent ideal but i think folk need to calm down a bit

rangers supporters said that last year.....and three players of the "right" quality would make all the difference ....I suppose we have to wait till the window closes to see where we stand but celtic need to push the boat out...we dont need anymore championship players ......especially camaras understudy.

its not the players that we'r bringing in thats the problem its the sh*te we cant get rid of thats keeping us back, strachan has let go too many big players and kept his favourites that are no good, ,,, hes let go sutton, agathe, hartson and doesnt play thommo who has been an important part of our winning sides no matter the quality of oppositon, while he keeps playing the likes of telfer, lennon, zurawski, who r all playing under the standard we should expect for celtic hes brought in some good players too like naka, boruc and jarosik but we definatly need a big signing that will raise our name in europe because right now anybody in the champions league will fancy a pop at us as we have no stars that stick out any more like larsson, hartson, sutton, keano, lubo, theres no one like that at celtic park any longer.
me personally, i think strachan has no ambition.

Disagree with stifflerlarsson there... For a start even the great Martin O'Neil started dropping Thompson who is now too old and doesnt offer enough energy, mobility or defensive ability and if you're suggesting he can do a better job than Maloney or McGeady then I disagree big time. He's also probably on a decent wage so should go..

Furthermore the guys you mentioned as being what made us special in the CL are larsson (one in a million), Hartson (6.5mill), Sutton (6mill), Keano (again one in a million/supporter of celtic) and Lubo only signed because other teams considered him a gamble at that age...

The good signings Strachan have made are exactly the kind of players we need like Naka, Boruc, Magic, Jiri, etc Its the crap players he signs that gets me worried. Even when O'Neil bought crap he had the ability to get the best out of them - like your Vega's, Varga's and arguably Agathe.. Strachan hasnt shown he can improve players when they come here and thats what worries me.

ok mike, fair point on thommo, but with guys like lennon still in the team thommo def has a shout before him,
as for 6mil for hartson and sutton, wheres the problem there, why shouldnt we be signing another 6 million striker? we'r in the champions league and petrovs going for about 6 million so we should have the cash and the wages to give out to a quality striker because zurawski def doesnt offer us his worth- he makes all his runs outside the box gets the ball in wide positions, and hes too easily pushed off the ball because his effort is very poor. we should be expecting a lot more from him we need a penalty box striker which is why i cant beleive he let hartson go for next to nuthin without having a replacement............ poor managment!

Waht i dont understand is why people on this site are saying that all of Strachens signings are bad ones. Ok, Telfer and Camara are bad but at the time Gordon "Had no money" so he had to make do with players who he has worked with before. But players like Magic, Bourch, Naka, Wilson, Cadwell, Jarosik, sno, Riodan and Miller are not good signings.

I found out when i watched the Chealsea game that there was only one player in the team who played in the UEFA Cup final against FC (*) Porto. This Just shows why Strachen let go of Players like, agathe and Hartson, because he wants to make the team his own and advance to new levels. Even though the team who reached the Final were a very good team, most of them now whould be to old to play for Celtic now.

most o them are too old?? dont think so...... hartsons better than zurawski, suttons better than miller, macnamras better than camara, vargas better than virgo, agathes better than telfer, how is that takin us to a higher level??
i agree with u that strachan is tryin to build his own team but he seems in too much of a hurry to offload oniels players, the wee guys attitude stinks , he thinks hes somthing hes not, if the huns werent so bad last yr the attitude towards strachan would be different beleive me.

to succeed we need to get rid of the signings that havent worked because as long as telfer is there strachan will play him, same goes wi zurawski i dont know why we call him magic?? decent player yes, quality striker .. far from it.... if ye go to the game today.....watch him wonder outside the box get the ball do nuthin with it then stand there without makin another run, i know hes no larsson, but most strikers give the ball then make a run back into the box... honestly keep an eye on him..... hes a lazy player who lacks effort. score goals yes.... when we need them .. not neccessarly.

See maybe i dont see these things, i live down south and very rarely get to see games at Celtic Park. I didn't realise that Zurawski did that, i thought that the was working hard every game. sorry if i was wrong.

Well when you put it like that I totally agree with the first part but the second part about Strachan offloading players - think i read a quote in the paper this week that Strach has lost 20 players since he joined and he says he asked none of them to leave!

Off topic but I dont know if im hungover or what but I * loved agathe and I cant believe we have lost him... * sake
