I thought Kayal and Maj had impressive debuts.

Maj looks dominant at the back and I just felt safer with him there and more confident of getting a clean sheet.

Kayal looks a great signing, lots of good interceptions and unlike N'Guemo he has decent ball distribution, plus not afraid to make surging runs forward.

Maloney needs to work on his finishing, Samaras on his layoffs which were terrible.

Juarez looks a find in midfield, he must have been wasted playing at right back in the past.

Cha Du Ri and Fortune have the making of a productive right field partnership. I just hope the Honduran can form a similar connection on the left, looking forward to his debut at the weekend.

Personally I would give the captaincy to Maj. He is a leader of men. I am not convinced with Brown as captain and I do wonder if the responsibility affects his performance. He was better tonight but I would prefer Ledley in the centre with Kayal; and Brown on the bench.

In summary a positive performance which although early days shows signs of developing into the best and most solid Celtic team since the glory days of Larsson and Sutton. Just need to find a strikeforce that could lace their boots.....plus a goalie.

First half was good. Sammy and Majstrovic were excellent, as discussed already the midfield seemed pretty solid too.

2nd half was less promising all round, could tell it was a newish team. Will improve as the weeks go by though.

Fortune was a waste of a shirt once again. Get him to * ASAP.

1 away goal and they will need 4.

I'll be * if we go there and try and defend.

First half was solid really looked promising Would have liked a third goal, felt sammy brown n fortune took the foot off the gas in the 2nd hav tho, started t give the ball away

Big maj should b looked at being captain if broony loses his place in team

Anyone know the latest on kayals injury?

Great result, great play and just * great all round.

Still to get Hooper back and maybe another 2 players. Lennon is building a good wee team here.

    Hail Hail

That is what i fear, i hope we don't sit in for the whole game and try to defend, we need to have a go as well!

We need to start well. Fortune' could be crucial in Holland and i hope we get up quicker to support him as he is always willing to take the ball and wait for someone to get it from him to cross.

Troops, that was well the game tonight.

Kayal - As good as I'd hoped. His long balls were of playmaker quality. :icon_mrgreen:
Juarez - As good as he looked in his previous games.
Majstorovic - Looking like the defender we've needed - and perhaps the captain we've needed too.
Samaras - Quality. Great play to set up Maloney early on, great dummy to set up the first goal, and great finish to bury the second.

Ledley again put in a decent shift at LB, Cha provided some quality service, particularly for Sammy's goal - even Scott Brown put in a good solid performance.

I have to say this is very heartening, very heartening indeed. Lenny is to be congratulated on the type of football on display. This is more like it.

don't know what to make of the game really, happy for the win but felt we where
not pressing enough to suggest the tie is over, they had a few chances that worried me in the game, and they could at home just as easily as us be 2 nil in front, so wee have to play better and more skillfully players next time in and around the box and for me Maloney will have to improve a lot for me as is Brown we are paying out good wages, and we are not getting not much in return from them

Fair play Kev :50:. Was really disapointed (over the moon for us obviously) with Mertens, I was hyping him up to my mates.

How impressed where you with Kayal No' 33 ?. Just wondering from an unbiast view.

I could see why Mertens is a good player. But he was quiet actually. But he cuts inside and moves, i could see he is good.
