Can't let myself get excited by this one My dream would be to have Given on loan this season a signed Westwood on a pre-contract at christmas but I dont want to get my hopes up.

 

I honestly dont think we are in a position to get someone like Given into the club in any kind of deal. I really hope I am wrong I just dont think that I am. We have lost out on so many this window that at the minute I am just happy with the ones that we did get.

didnt lennon state in yesterdays press conference that we would be interested in him but havnt contacted city yet. all this talk of him signing is very premature but id love him to come.

All I'll say on this, as it's about a transfer and not media policy, is this;

Do you honestly think that clubs don't know who is tracking who? It wouldn't matter if Lenny openly admitted we were tracking a player because at the very next press conference someone will ask if that's the case anyway

The other point is that most of the players we have missed out on have made the decision to go to another club, they don't get held hostage and forced to sign for another club under duress...........

Still hopeful right enough - & a lot more hopeful than I was when this thread started out - but wouldn't read too much into those odds...

 

lets get a young good up and coming keeper who will be here for a while,chasing these types cost a * of a lot of money

 

it is a big outlay, but we're talking a loan spell for a year. to be honest, I'd try to purchase, you'll get a good 4 years out of Given still and he's one of the best shot stoppers in the business.

 

man city wont sell given. this is a season long loan to make sure about joe hart and then sell him next season. i'll take him for a year with the option to buy
