not quite sure what paper it was in, but apparently, since he is moving to celtic and getting a much higher wage than he would have been back home, his family will be big targets for kidnappers,to be held at ransom, its a common thing there, happened with palacios amung others

How come mate? We'd have to pay about £2million for him and you could get Salcido for about that amount. But a player the same age as Wallace and has 44 caps and costs only a fraction of the price is a good deal, plus he'll be on peanuts aswell.

I actually think Wallace would be more like £3million than £2million but anyway.........

Wallace for me is exactly the kind of player Celtic should be going for.

He's young
He's Scottish
He is a better left-back than any left-back we have
He knows the Scottish Football scene and has proved he can handle it
He is good going forward
He's ok defensively and has the potential to improve that side of his game
He will have a re-sale value if we choose to move him on in the future

Basically this guys ticks pretty much all the boxes for me and it is a no-brainer imo that we should have gone after him. I know that £3million sounds a lot for Lee Wallace, and that a lot of fans would baulk at that, but if we kept him for 5 seasons that would average out at £600,000 a season. Hardly bad value for a guy who is likely to be Scotland's left-back for years to come.

If this Izaguirre fella turns out to be a good player then fair enough but I think Lee Wallace is the best left-back in the SPL and he's the guy we should have gone for.

i think he will be a decent signing, he was meant to be going to wigan. so it said during the world cup anyway. 44 international caps, it might only be for honduras but that is experience i would say
