Im starting to get relly * off at the lack of money being spent by our club. Why do they continue to tell us that there is only limited funds? The £10m or so from the CL should be spent straight away on the team as it was the team that got us there, and it will be them who have the responsibility of making Celtic progress. :31: Without investment in the team we will make no progress at all!

too late gordy even if we do get good players in they are not gonna gel in time ...it takes years of making the right moves and years of momentum to have a team ready to do justice to a meaningfull assault on the champions league

The board would spend the money if we had it. Do you really think they dont want us to be successful. Stop trying to pick faults everyone and get behind the club.

gs has had since january to plant the seeds for moves he's interested in making

    we're now into the season , played 2 won 1 lost 1

your going to have to face it troops, faith in gs and the current squan aint going to make it all turn around

we all want the same for the team & club, however alot of people need to face the reality

we should be going at games atleast LOOKING like we have intent

sadly now ,as once 'celtic dont do friendlies' ,well we do now

and we carried the same attitude into the hearts game ,lacklustre ,weak, drained, clueless ,no appetite & no pride

we can all sit back and have faith/pray for the best but
Strong characters like roy keane know how it is & expressing disappointment is the very least we should be doing

reality is we have a very poor squad imo

and im gutted how we look

I am firmly 100% behind the club and have been since my first game back in 1988. I am not picking faults but believe that we could have spent more money to bring in quality to the side. If you can get lucky with a bosman then fair enough but to get success cash must be spent. And as for theres no money then where the * is it?? All year round tims spend a small fortune following Celtic, never mind the T.V money and sponsorships and shirt sales. The board must wish all fans were like you.

lets hopefully discuss it without hopefully people getting abusive & coming across as wee kids

With the squad we have I really dont hold out much hope of doing well this season. Yet I'll still be there through it all. Just wish the board would take a gamble on a few big signings. And I'm not getting abusive Renegade just saying that the club would love everyone "to stop picking faults and get behind the team". It doesnt work like that though if I think things could be done better then I will come on here and say what I feel. Not to insult fellow tims. HAIL HAIL

We are 2 or 3 players away from being not a bad team. Of course we deserve better but it wont happen overnight. Theres no point buying players if they are not as good as the ones we have got.

we're all gonnae still be there & behind them

im under no illusion , we should be at 1st gear right now ,we look at 4th or 5th

if we couldnt get up to face hearts (the club who seem to think they now have the best team & who's chairman cant see a reason why they cant reach the last 16 in the champ lge ) ,then when are the team going to ?

i was treating the game like an oldfirm game ,all out for the 3 points,
    ofcourse it wasnt to be

The same board got us Naka, Zurawski, Boruc and Wilson last term. This term they've gotten us Jarosik. The window is NOT over despite all the doom and gloom being posten here, and I still have faith we will come out in a very strong position come September.

If not, make this poll again then and you'll have a different answer :p

Jarad, I wouldnt say any of those mentioned have lived up to the expectation they brought last season except possibly Boruc & Wilson.

That's our problem, we SHOULD be saying we are 2 or 3 players away from a team that's going to compete in the CL

But the sad truth is were 2 or 3 QUALITY signings away from maybe (and it's a * massive maybe) retaining the SPL !!

    IMO:31:

Normally the quality signings are done and dusted WELL before the league starts !

    Re:

Whether Petrov leaves or not, this is what it comes down to, are they going to spend the cash or are they going to hold back. Its been real quiet on the tranfer front, nothing really huge or concreate in the media since the Hesselink and Timoshchuk story broke two weeks ago.

Timoshchuk : "If we get an offer which meets a real valuation of our captain's worth, we will not stand in his way"

Hesselink: "Both parties know what is on the table and I think it looks good. Personal terms will not be a problem and it is up to the clubs to agree on a fee."

No issues with the players not wanting to come here, no problem with the weekly wages theyd be earning, its all come down to the transfer fee. Its a tough market out there as were finding out with Stans situation, but they have to find a way to bring these types of players in. If theyre going to take a hit in the pocket book, then so be it, because they cant just sit by and do nothing.

Agreed 100% .. they must know for sure we need players fast. and not panick buying either ... we need a couple of quality signings imo ...thats blatantly obvious... or prepare for a potentially bad season and europe bieng a non-starter.ffsk..speculate to accumulate celts board ... get the green out..now.

Thats the one good thing about Petkov being sent home...I was hoping he would be a real find, but even though it didnt work out, it shows they are not going to make roster decisions that arent thought out just for the sake of adding players. I have faith that Strachen has the ability to make the moves he has to make if he has the money to do it, we'll see how things pan out closer to the transfer deadline. Too quiet right now, it feels like the calm before the storm ...

Gordon Strachan has done a great job with * all. Critisising him is fairly pointless. Very few could have done much better.

Financially, Scotland is miles behind, England, Germany, Holland, France, Italy, Portugal, Spain. People think that we should be able to hit as hard as the above, how??? People are quick to critise without understanding the huge problem that we are in. One simple example, Celtic get €1.5M for winning the league, teams that just survive relegation in the EPL get more than that and we are suppose to be able to flog the same amount of money as Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Man Utd??

We'd be banckrupt in 2 seasons time and winning the SPL will become just a dream. We are still paying the financial penalties for nearly going bankrupt before. People forget that too quickly plus the implications of not qualifying for the CL last year. Should we be doing share issues every season just so we can buy players?? I want to get away from that
