League Cup

I think it's really important(more than usual) that we win the CIS/League Cup this season.

With all the new players coming in it would help give the players confidence and would create that winning mentality. An early Hampden win would allow the new signings to realise what it's like to win as part of the Celtic family!

When you think back it was an important cup for Wim in getting everyone to believe that we could stop 10, and MON won it to give us our first treble since 1969!

Come on Lenny you've got a realistic chance to write your own page in our history lets start as we mean to go on!

To any moderators, is it forum etiquette only to have one thread running at a time or is this just an uninteresting topic?

I agree. Success breeds success and the club could do with a boost.

I can see us getting rangers in the cis cup final and league cup final.Although id love to see them get put out by a first division team.:icon_mrgreen:

 

it's definitely a massive confidence boost to win the 1st trophy of the season, plus we have a lot of new players of whom many might not have won a trophy yet in their careers, so winning their 1st professionnel medals will certainly give them the hunger and desire to win many more.

I think we should be trying to play our fringe players in the cups, especially the league cup. Would be good for the players to get a run out and prove their worthy of the first team, and give the first choices a rest, and due to our squad size, it seems silly not to.

It is very important that we win the first trophy

 

We should be going all out for the win , we have no europe to play in , the players let themselves down so should play in the LC and get the 1st trophy in the cabinet

 

It would definitely soften the blow of being out of Europe and help build a wee bit of momentum.

We've such a woeful record in the tournament too, if Lenny can get this one under his belt it could give the team that wee bit of much needed confidence.

 

I think we need to be going all out to try and win the League Cup. No question especially now that we are out of Europe. We have had some bad home defeats in recent season so hopefully we can take care of Inverness in the last 16 in a few weeks and move on. It may not be the marquee competition but it has given us some great memories over the years.

Back in the day it was big to win the league cup not just for the players but for the fans also, another day at Hampden for a cup.
Scottish cup was held even more highly, but alas in this day and age they are both refered to as "diddy cups".
Last season I would have been happy with a Glasgow Cup.

Oh how things have changed.

Just my opinion.
