    I see where your coming from. Im staying optimistic for this one however. I think our main rivals for getting him are fulham who will have the cash to buy bellamy outright, plus the welsh connection! I don't think city will sell him to spurs though.

    Agreed that we need our backline sorted before the season starts regardless and this area is priority number 1 at the moment. Though getting bellamy would do wonders for us this season. Hopefully bring back some of the atmosphere we all miss at CP!

    If we were to sell McGeady, get Bellamy on loan and use the McGeady cash to bring in a couple of decent defenders, then this window will have been unbelievably good.

    If we fail, then I'm glad Lenny has the ambition to be aiming for that level of player.

    I think this signing relies on the departure of McGeady. The board will want to bring in a big signing like Bellamy or Keane to appease the fans angry with the Champions League loss and the sale of Mcgeady. Even though a player of this standard would demand a big wage backet and transfer fee I wonder if Dermot Desmond would be tempted to make this happen as the season ticket sales and shirt sales would increase with the optimism created by a signing like Bellamy.

    I never really did believe what was reported fae that Q&A session in Dundee. I hope this has been kept up Desmond, Lawell and Lennon's sleeve for a while now and that some major work has been getting done behind the scenes. :celt_2:
