Swedish defender Andreas Granqvist has revealed his proposed move to Celtic could still go ahead.

Granqvist[IMG] has been linked with a switch to the Bhoys following manager Neil Lennon's[IMG] admission his back line is in need of strengthening.

The 25-year-old is set to leave Dutch side Groningen[IMG] after a two-year spell at the club with Parkhead likely to be his next destination.

Lennon has already been linked with St Etienne[IMG] stopper Yohan Benalouane but Granqvist insists he still remains a transfer target.

He told the Daily Record: "Celtic[IMG] are interested but the new coach must see what he has to work with financially."

Think if we can get him for cheap he'd be a decent buy. Looked decent enough for Wigan a few seasons back.

He is a decent player and even at decent is an improvement of Loovens and O'Dea

and gallas don't have any if's and buts about him?, such as his egotiscal wankyness, dummy spitting, ridiculous attitude problem when some doesn't go how he wants it, coming to Scotland would only maginfy those problems as he'd believe he'd be the best thing since sliced bread up here and Lenny don't need that type of atitude up here while in the process of building a new team.

Centre back is the heart of any team, get the best two centrebacks we can afford and stop spending cash on loan signings wages.

He may have a bad attitude but he is light years ahead of any of our CB's in terms of quality and I for one would love to see someone of that quality in the hoops instead of Mulgrew, Loovens and Hoovield who were absolutely * last night.

he's a good cb no doubt but at the end of the day lenny don't need such a disruptive * stirer in his dressing room during a very important season for both celtic and lenny and gallas is just a mental liability, we need players who are good and stable in their mind set due to the importance of our season and we don't need characters like gallas disrupting everything causing all sorts of shyte

Granqvist seems to be a much better LONG TERM option costing pennies compared to gallas and TBF if he came and done well (gallas this is) fans would get used to it and then expect him stay (which we can't * well afford) or they would expect the same qaulity but on a long term contract (which we can't * well afford) and also I'd rather sign Granqvist rather then these short term options and constantly change our CB's by looking for a new pairing every season it would be just stupid and unsettling

This may be a goer , was talking to Lennon in the Pub last night after the Q&A in Preston and he said he was in final negotiations yesterday with a Tall Burly Swedish Centre Half just wondering if this is the Guy ..Said that Johan had been key to him possibly signing for us :50:..hope this is true
