    Re:

    Reading about the possibility of a loan from a French team now, Im convinved more than ever that this is the way to go... I dont think a loan is the answer. Of all the potential moves Ive heard of thus far, this is surely the best option and the guy we need along side Magic in the champions league.

    5mill, great value imo. I hope we get VOH, he is what we need.

    lookin quiet now.. need to pay between 6 and 7 m for Timoschuik and then almost 5 for joh.. can't see that somehow.. though the fact martin o'neill will more than likely pay over 5 for petrov if he takes charge of villa would change things.. then again, would we then be any further forward in midfield?

    depressing at times, being so hamstrung when we could/should be operating as one of the worlds biggest clubs financially..

    hail, hail :47:

    If we made enough money to buy Tymoschuk then yes our midfield would be improved perhaps the best since the peak of O'Neils reign :p

    Maloney/McGeady Jarosik Tymoschuk Nakamura is pretty * amazing :p

    Looks like a good scoring record, but then again I have no idea how good the Russian Championship is. Reminds me a bit of Joe Cole though..:87:

    Is Garry O'conner not in line to be top scorer of the russian league this season? Not so promising..

    I'm a bit upset that it looks like Celtic have moved on from VoH, he would have been a massive signing imo. I mean, Petrov being sold will net at least 5 mil, so it's almost an even trade. At this point with Jarosik looking really good a straight Petrov-VoH trade would be more than worth it I think.

    kerzhakov would be a great a signing a watched best hat tricks in europe and he was on it and he would guarantee goals in both cl and spl he is regarded as the shevy of russia but i dont think this kind of player would be on GSs radar

    Yer, quite weird, even in Holland there's no signal anymore of VoH moving anywhere. I guess it was clear to Celtic that there was no discussion possible about the 5 million pounds, and you decided to not take VoH? That Petrov guy, he's a midfielder? Is he a attacking one? :fear:

    Yes, he's a quality attacking midfielder and captain of Bulgaria's national team. Good player, he just doesn't want to be at Celtic anymore but Celtic can't get a decent offer for him. Premiership clubs seem to think they can get him for less than he's worth because they Know Celtic need the money. I'd say he's on the same quality level as VoH at a minimum though.

    yep, I agree with the disappointed sentiments expressed here..

    should petrov leave and we are left poking around the likes of messina for replacements in midfield then we can look forward to a champions league embarrasment.. i think our first 11, if clicking, can be a fantastic fluid unit, but if we have one or two injuries it is looking like we could be sucked back into the bad old days of having second rate foreigners on the panel..

    We need to commit to spending over 5 million on a world class player at least twice a year, using these to compliment the players that come through our ranks playing (and winning) together for years.

    That is the true power of our club.. we should be putting it in action a bit better than we currently are!

    hail, hail! :celt_2:

    I was speaking to a dutch boy the day in work and i asked him about VoH. As soon as i mentioned him his brows dropped and he said the guys not up to much, causes trouble frequently and is up his own * without having the ability to back it up.

    Doesnt sound like a very wise £5 mil to me

    The days of Celtic spending 5 million are LONG LONG gone ...... Funny how that story came out the morning after we go our arses felt by man utd under 21's

    It was a pish media story , probably started in CP to stop us from shouting our mouths off !!

    Lets look at the simple sums

    CL = 10 mill
    Sale of Petrov = 5mill
    Biggest ever launch of Celtic strip = Must be a couple of mill
    All these pish friendlies worldwide = ????

    And we've spend

    Jarosik = 2 mill
    sno = 80K
    riordan = 500K

    Simple maths and I'll bet you we end up with grampa dublin back and no money spent

    I hope I'm wrong but that seems to be the way celtic work , based on the past few years :31:

    It worked, did it not? They said we were going for a £10million swoop and everyone was overjoyed and forgot how crappy our team had played the previous night as they were too busy drooling over the possibility of VOH and Tymo. Will be disapointed if we don't get some players in though.
