Two words, Prudence and frugality!

 

Selling Hartson may not have been a lack of wisdom, but doing it with no one in mind to replace him was. In theory he was axed to free up money for someone younger/faster, but GS hasn't brought anyone in. Not only that but Dublin is just a poor man's Hartson. With no replacement we may as well have kept the man himself, he would have at least bagged another 20 goals in the league.

 

why hasnt he been replaced ...because you cant buy players of hartsons calibre for £500k..unless you are buying from celtic...and what happened to hartsons wages?...and I agree hartson would have scored at least 20 this season...another blunder by strachan as if he doesnt have enough on his cv already....he has a ready made excuse in celtic....he can blame the board...everyone goes on about hartsons lack of goals ....but what about his assists....how he holds the ball up ...how powerfull he is in the air ...I ll tell you we ll miss him against rangers...bbj scored important goals last season...he intimidated defences allowing others freedom...were going to replace him with his 37 year old back up ....absolute * madness celtic ...weve shot ourselves in the foot with this one....and it shows bad management.....I said it before artmedia last season ...this little blowhard hasnt got what it takes.....are we really better for having him as manager ...the mark of a good manager is making the best of mediocre players ...I think we can safely say we have plenty of that....sadly for us I think were about to find out the hard way hes not up to it ...the sooner he goes the better

If i was Dublin id be embarrassed with this story. If Strachan came up and said 'Dion we want you back' id say, 'Gordon get a grip of yourself. Stop panicking and go for a massage or something. I'll spare your blushes and decline your offer, but please dont be so * stupid in future!'

Surely there is some striker that is cheap out there.

Just like Bjorn Runstrom that moved to Fulham from a Swedish club, apparently he is * hot and Fulham got him cheap, and he is only 20 or near that.
