WHO SHOULD BE CAPTAIN

If people didn't have this attitude then there would be very little point in having forums at all. We're all entitled to our point of view and sometimes we do think we know better than people at the club. Nothing wrong with that at all.

People are claiming captaincy should be based on players ability rather than their ability to lead. how can you judge the leadership of a man on the pitch if you can't hear what he's saying? how do you know he's leading on the pitch?

 

To be honest i'd have McGeady as captain if he stays IMO. But if he goes then either Juarez (if he brushes up on his english) or Hooiveld should be captain.

 

Would surely be either McManus or Caldwell if they were still here

 

Actually tbh I really dislike Brown as a player and i think he is utter crap but really he probably is the closest thing we have to a captain. I agree that I dont think there really is a captain among them yet. Maybe as the season goes on then we will get one like Juarez emerging. McGeady if he stays or Bellamy if he signs should get it though.

I know, but i'm saying hwo there is little captain material here. We sold two players that had it- even though they werent the best footballers.

I'd prefer a Scottish captain tbh.

Fair point. Although they weren't the best pairing, they were a lot more solid than anything we've had since, and, as you say, had the personality to be captain (possibly debatable in Mick's case).

I thought the thread was meant on the basis IF Brown was to be out injured although maybe it wasn't meant like that at all but either way it's just people speculating who they feel should get the armband and why.. it's not worth getting wound up about..

 

Its been cocked up from the moment it was given to Brown (i would never have took that option), because we can hardly take it off him with no apt replacement. He's got a lot to learn as a player but he's the closest thing to a captain we have as has been said.

Boruc or Hartley would have been captain.

I wouldn't be surprised if O'Dea got it for a few games

 

tbh i dont think anyone in our team is captain material , id maybe have juarez for a future captain down the line but not asap , we may yet bring in a player that will be captain i.e keane / bellamy/hildebrand.
but no one in the current team is captain material.
until then give it to hinkel but he aint getting a game , * nose why like !

Hinkel will be used in the SPL i reckon, he's not being played in Europe so that he isn't cup-tied, but if he still here come deadline, i would have him back into the team with Cha RW

 

u cant really say nothing negative m8 cuz there has not been a captain at this club since lennon !
