I share your concerns but I am willing to give Lennon the benefit of the doubt a bit longer. Lennon was not my first choice for the job, in fact he wasn't even my second, third, fourth.... I wanted a man of experience and tactical know how for the position, someone of Craig Levein's stature, and I would be dishonest if I was to say I don't have any reservations or worries about him, and after the Sporting Braga game they have came into sharper focus and perspective.

I am worried about his tactical naivety and lack of experience. What happened to this Stuart Baxter ? Is he still here ? and if he is what influence is he bringing to bear or not in the grand scheme of things. I am worried that he is going into bat against one of the wiliest and craftiest operators in the game, and we still don't have a proper left back, brilliant goalkeeper or commanding centre back. Yes they may come and I am waiting patiently for them, and more importantly to see if Lennon can make them gel quickly and effectively enough to mount a successful SPL challenge. We screwed up against Sporting Braga. Whether or not we can pull this deficit back remains to be seen, but whatever happens next week is going to have a significant influence in determining Lennon's and the Club's future. Our fans are a very unforgiving audience, and we don't tolerate failure lightly, and Lennon will be judged on his results or lack of them.He cannot expect to be treated any differently from Mowbray if he mucks this season up, and I don't think he would expect to be himself. He knows what is at stake. Let's hope for his sake and ours he can deliver.

Maybe you didn't hear it because a lot of fans thought he would not get the job, I for one did not want him, but will give him my backing, and was hoping with the players he had brought in and the ones left over from last season there would be at least some improvement, but it has not been his first game? even to get one thing right passing, is this too hard to correct.

looking at last seasons team i thought we needed a good centre half, left back, centre mid and a top class striker. add borucs departure now we need a good goalie. i thought that would have been priorities !! the centre half , goalie, left back and a top striker are all still missing after 7 signings. thats where the doubts start to creep in.

The only 2 meaningful games he has managed since the spl was lost against St Mirren have been Ross Cty and Braga, and we lost both pretty badly??

I agree as if we didnt have enough positions to sort out last season, by letting go of mcgeady, hinkel and Boruc gives us another 3 to contend with

Where did I scoff at grit and determination? I asked an honest question did fans enjoy these games?
The errors are not getting sorted out, ground hog day for 4 years, with all the players he had signed I was wanting him to succede, even one at least.
It makes me want to go out and kick some *, how many backroom staff and managers does this take or is this the lead up to a quick fire joke:84:

    <o:p> </o:p>
Lennon Went for the 5 in the middle to assist the defence and that is what they did in open play as I can only remember once that Braga got in behind us in the first half. He was unlucky in his tactics, pity I couldn’t say the same for some of the players.
    <o:p> </o:p>
All the goals where set plays and all could have been avoided, not one was due to being under pressure. A stupid foul out side the box which was soft, a penalty which was harsh and a cheep corner.
    <o:p> </o:p>
The team can’t pass a ball under pressure but Braga where not that good at it either.
    <o:p> </o:p>
I have watched Celtic being out played and down 3-0 and knowing we where out of our depth. Not once in the game did I think Braga where better than us in the whole 90 minutes.
    <o:p> </o:p>
I think Lennon proved he has it with his run in with the league. Not sure how much he has to do with who we keep and who we let go.
    <o:p> </o:p>
I think you could have Mourinho '<--bit exaggerated’ and I don’t think he would do much better with players who can’t pass a ball and have no say about bringing in players who cost over the limit to Celtic wage structure to try and change it.

Well if we are gonna open up the conversation to the errors of the last 4 years, then your talking about a whole other set of issues: Why is Scottish Football so *? Why don't we produce good young players? Why do our players only play in English speaking countries and refuse to learn their trade elsewhere? What can we do to compete financially with the 'big boys'? Should we move to another league?

If somebody came along with the answers to these questions, he or she would be a very rich person....and maybe we would arrive at an all-encompassing answer as to why Celtic ain't meeting the fans' expectations.:54:

Nobody is asking for him to be sacked? it has never been a option, we want him and the team to succede, but FF Sake at least deal with some of these errors, it is week in week out this has been happening, so get a grip on these so called stars if not put the youngster out they seam to get the job done, when you look at how they do in the view.

nobody wants him sacked. doesnt mean u cant question him. he will get full backing and support and i hope he becomes a very succesful manager for us. in 2 or 3 yrs time we could have a thread saying "how long can we keep lennon before he moves on to bigger and better", its a fickle game but can all change in a matter of weeks. i for one hope and pray it does but voicing a few fears on here wont make a slight bit of diference. its all about opinions after all but at the end of the day we all want the same thing.... A WINNING CELTIC TEAM !!!

I like the types of players he is trying to get, even if some of them knock us back.

I think he will get it right, defence has to be priority though!

What a * for making this thread. Celtic fans do my head in sometimes. Give Neil a chance for * sakes!!!!!! ONE game and so many are on his back already. For all the armchair critics that are getting all worked up seriously get to * its doing my head in. And i thoroughly believe we can turn this tie around as long as Celtic park is rocking. I'll be so disappointed if its not a sell out

We have Neil Lennon in place as manager. He gets my backing 100%. The majority of us would have wanted a much more experienced manager at the helm, a man with a great European pedigree...But none of those were knocking our door down to join us. We have a man who will make mistakes, but those mistakes will be honest mistakes...He will hold his hands up when wrong. Whether people think Lennon is the man to take us forward or not....No one can ever doubt the man's love of the club nor that he will do everything he possibly can to get us back at the top where we belong. If he fails it will not be for the want of trying...We need to ALL rally round him and the team for the season ahead.
