let me guess Doctor , not an Asian Player :97: you just dont give up on your call to get rid and it all about shirt sales theory , give Asian players the respect they have come to deserve, the reasons you give are not good enough and a majority of us dont see it as we are not biased against Asian players! There i said it :47:

in another post you said something like 'ki must NOT play, i REPEAT must not play' as you thought it wasn't jis type of game. He was one of our best performers tonight an now i think your covering your previous comments with other negative comments to back up the negative crap you post earlier.

What some people tend to forget is that Ki is only 22 and playing his first full season in a European League. Taking this into account I would say Ki has done very well. The improvement between last season and this season has been immense. If he continues to improve he will become one of our top players.

Oh Dr.V where to begin, alas i will only make one short point, it seems to me you value him at 5 mill, not going by that assumption alone your estimation makes him a good player and so your argument is totally flawed, you think he isn't good enough yet value him at 5 mill i mean what?

I keep hearing this slow play down, ffs hes not slowing play down hes holding onto the * ball when they are no options available, hes only 22 for christs sake, he will continue to learn and tbh he was the second best midfielder today behind ledley, commons was quite gash and kayal didn't have his best day few misplaced passes but hes been so good that an average performance looks worse + could have been carrying an injury. It was a workmanlike performance today and every time we struggle to pump opponents the first player who gets it is Ki. Sorry meant to be short but had the express my feelings... :p

Is Ki the new scapegoat, seeing as we're bored of slagging Loovens and both Samaras & Brown are playing well?

Exactly. Either stop slagging our players or quite simply support another team.

    @format:

If you really think there is no difference between physical talent and intelligence then I don't even know where to begin.

Of course I don't think he should love all the Scottish fans. I'm only listing it as a reason he may want away.

Reread my post... I said I don't think he has to be sold. I like Ki. I never said I didn't. I just think he's gonna start running out of games soon as Ledley, Brown, Commons, Forrest, Kayal, etc, entrench themselves. Plus, reading his former comments, he wants to play every game. A league like Spain or England would be more suited to his style and he'd make more money. I just think he'll go, but if he stays I would be more than happy to have him on the bench.

Thanks for reading my comments fairly and accurately. It makes for great conversation...

This is a ridiculous comment. First of all, I don't think DV slagged Ki. He just doesn't prefer him as a player, and has made several comments over the time Ki has been here showing why he doesn't prefer him. Slagging a player is what people do to Sammy all the time. Secondly, should no one ever critique anyone in our squad? That seems a little ridiculous. It would be different if DV had said something like "Ki is the worst player of all time. Every play is total crap and he only cares about modeling close on the Korean website." But he didn't. You should save this outrage for about twenty other people who post on the site.

Where did you mention physical talent? You said footballing talent. No mention of physicality anywhere in your post.
So, you think that he is physically fine, but mentally (in a footballing sense) deficient? That is rather odd considering his detractors usually level the exact opposite at him. 'Too lightweight for the SPL' being the usual.

You said you agree with the OP. The OP states he wants Ki sold. The thread is entitled 'Sell Ki' ffs!:56:
    The

Commons, Forrest and Brown are all players that play either wide midfield, attacking mid or as winger. Ki plays as a deep lying CM, therefore only competing for the 2 CM spots with 2 other players - Ledley and Kayal. 3 player competing for 2 spots is probably just the right amount of competition, IMO.

Are you saying that the parts in bold aren't slagging off Ki?

I dont think Ki deserves all the plaudits he gets, and certainly would prefer Ledley and Kayal in midfield, but he had a decent game tonight and worked a lot harder than I have seen him in the past. Wouldnt like to see him sold yet, he is a young player who I hope will develop over the next season. We have a very strong midfield and it shows that we need all our players in there to battling for a spot.

Sammy is a different thread altogether.

I think Ki has the potential to be a useful player for Celtic. He shouldn't be a first choice at this moment in time though. When everyone is fit we should go with Ledley and Kayal in the centre of midfield and play Commons and Broony in the wide positions.

It's up to Ki to take his chance when injuries/suspensions strike.

Ki is a perfectly good player and I can't see how anybody can see anything different. He's not amazing, but he's perfectly good, and getting better all the time.

Ledley should be a first pick as he's more of an all-rounder, but Ki is easily the best passer of the ball we have in the squad. Easily.

Just a few months ago, he was the first choice in CM, and it's a bit of a shame that the Asian Games happened when they did. Can't remember too many saying 'sell him' when he was picking up POTM awards before Xmas.

If I'm not mistaken, alot of people also said that Naka was 'too lightweight for the SPL'... he managed to do OK, I think most would agree. Ki is a young guy with absolutely bags of ability & time is still on his side - and he put in a shift tonight. We have a Cup final in a few days time and one of the players likely to start is having all this nonsense spouted about. Ludicrious.

obviously not going to get a game when we have Commons, Ledley, Kayal and Brown playing like they are. he has been great when needed. shouldn't sell and doesn't deserve the criticism. great squad player. why would you want rid of depth of quality? having said that every player has their price and if someone comes in with £6m+ it'll be hard to turn down.

@format: Calm down. You are reading so much into what I said that I never said. Also, in my vernacular footballing talent = physical talent. Sorry if that confused you. I do agree that Ki should be sold, which once again, you would realize if you read my post. But that doesn't mean I hate the player. I just think we have better and can do better.

And no, Dr. V's highlighted segments are "slagging". They're legitimate critiques. You can disagree with his critiques, but he's not saying nearly the sorts of things said elsewhere on this forum. Go to the Sammy thread for examples. Last I'll post on it. Have fun.

I'm not 'reading into' anything. I'm reading exactly what you posted.

This is one thing I will read into... tells me a lot.

You've got 2 posts that say you want him sold, and one that says don't think he has to be sold. Which one is it?

Is it a legitimate critique to say that he looks like a wee boy when he is on the pitch? No.

Is it legitimate to say that he is so bad that we, as a team, would be better without him on the pitch, ie, with 10 men instead of 11? No. Especially not when it was him that provided the assist for Ledley's second goal.

Whether these slaggings are on a par with those that Samaras gets is neither here nor there.

I really hope that wasn't your last post on the subject. It's annoying as * when you're trying to prove a point to someone and they decide that they've had enough of debating it.
Some might consider that that's a concession of defeat, I suppose.

We would sell Brown before we sell, Ki. People are too quick too judge and too quick to forget. Ki was our best player the First Half of the Season and is still developing. He has played more Football than any player in our squad over the course of the last year and thats not counting the world cup where he started every game for South Korea and was one of their standout players. The boy has more talent in his left foot than many in our squad have all together. I am sure if this forum had been around a decade ago the very same people calling for us to sell him would have been calling for us to sell Petrov and Larsson.
