Celtic looked worse in this game than anytime last season.that performance is the worst Ive saw Celtic play in a long long time

SAMMY is not the answer.i saw maloney on the pitch but did he get a kick..and the big diddy at the back couldn't pass the parcel

Celtics passing was terrible, they couldn't pass the ball 10 yards to each other ,did we even make any chances? no not one of note that i can remember..i did pop down to the shop more more * right enough i might have missed them

braga are not a top team by any stretch of the imagination but they beat us easy...

3 set pieces ..a pen.a corner and a free kick..the perfect hat trick some would say.

if we dont turn this around is that us out of europe altogther

I posted this in another thread but I want to get my point across and see what people disagree with for a bit of discussion :50:

FACT-They are not a very good side. They are nothing like I would expect from a Portuguese team as they had very little flair. But their team were very well organised and worked around a very strong spine as they had a pair of rock solid centre halves and a very hard working set of central midfielders. They didn't waste the ball as much compared to us and were very good at pressing.

I don't know if you noticed but when the ball was in our half they rarely pressed and let our central defenders move forward with the ball freely but as soon as the ball was given to one of our players inside their half the ball was chased away by a solid bank of four midfielders, so all our midfielders could do was retreat. This is why you kept seeing Loovens, Hooiveld and Mulgrew punting 40 yard balls all game.

The goals we conceded were VERY silly goals and I feel we could easily have left that park tonight with a 0-0 draw if our players were still alert for the full 90 mins, but they are still not match fit and are playing in blistering heat and were pressing all over the pitch which knackered them out.

So I mostly blame this defeat on lack of concentration and mach sharpness which is nothing Lenny could have changed but thats the way football goes eh!

Although I do feel we will beat these at Parkhead, I can't see us absolutely pumping them and think it will be a 1-0 or 2-0. And I do feel we should punt Loovens like most others have said on this thread as he has let us down time after time and it's not acceptable for games of this importance being thrown away for a stupid mistake. Lenny should tell them that if there is a ball coming in to our box then attack it, don't leave it for a person you think might get there as it is much better to have two people going to attack the ball and maybe hurting one another than no-one attacking it as it won't concede us a goal! Centre halves must risk their lives to keep a clean sheet it's what they are getting payed for! I mean look at Lucio when he makes a great tackle he celebrates with other team-mates as if he has just scored a * goal! Thats what I want!

Being a wee bit despondent a condition I have encountered from the end of GSs tenure through TMs, and now the beginning of NLs, I am going to make some player comments, it wont help Celtic and dont suppose but it sure will help me to get it out! LoL
Zaluska; Cha, Loovens, Hooiveld, Mulgrew; Maloney (Murphy 70), Ki, Juarez (Forrest 79), Brown, Ledley; Samaras

Zaluska, I honestly dont think he is a first team Celtic quality goalie.

Cha, he needs time I guess, he is no spring chicken and should be able to cope at Celtic, certainly strong enough looking, just hope he aint a Korean cairt horse and does get around, although we shall see, for I aint sure what a Korean cairt horse looks like!

Loovens, he aint no star but to me does ok, but not a lot more than ok!

Hooiveld, almost looked no bad but then again what is no bad in a Celtic mid backline, for I have lost all recognition of what that looks like, believe me!

Mulgrew, he is in a position, leftback that Celtic have struggled with for seasons, to give you a hint the best was a right fitted player that only filled in there as well and his name was Jackie McNamara.
Take my word for it Mulgrew will NOT make it at Celtic.

Maloney, he probably was played out of position, but other than that he was a lost soul oot there on the park.

Ki, nope he wont do, not sure if he really knows where hes at, its like the Billy Connolly comment hes oot there on the park hoping an explorer will come and tell him where he`s at.

Jaurez, looked a very willing participant this ghuy could verywell make it.

Brown, an imposter need I say more.

Ledley, he doesnt look like a real get right into it type player but he may find his feet and fit in.

Samaras, gets the ball often turns either way and losses the * ball, like a number of others he has to go.

I am thinking THOSE running the club are only capable of developing from top on down chancers, its so sad to say, as they say in the Southern States here, this shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit will need to stop.
    But will it?

i was ragin at this last night, but then i realised taht i thought it would be europa league even if we had won the game, the next opponents would be stronger, but still we really did look like a bunch of guys who didnt know each others playing style, and we also looked unfinished as a team, we need 3-4 signings yet, im still optimistic about the new season tho

out of the new boys who started i thought mulgrew was asolute *, ledley didnt get into it at all, juarez was bad at first and then got a bit better, and i thought cha was pretty decent, oh and murphy done ok when he came on

I knew celtic would make hard work of it but weren't expecting a 3-0 jebus I was hoping more for a 1-1 draw or something, to those that say Braga are not a very good side, sersiously? look at their defensive record oh if i read it right their transfer movement is out of this world as if i read it right no fewer then 17 players were brought in, so that tells me two things.

    1. Money has won this game albeit money well deserved after pushing a * excellent benfica side last season to title.
    2. this not very good team, to me are * fantastic if they can sign so many players and still pump us 3-0.
I was hoping for something in europe but weren't expecting it to come from the CL but after this showing in europe any way it's hard to see how we can cope with better teams, one thing above everything that makes me laugh is how rangers fan seem to be loving this result yet look at whats happen to their team and just imagine when they get Man U, Barca, Real, Inter, Chelsea etc... in their group what goes around comes around.

All in all expected celtic to make hard work of things, didn't expect this, expect us to win at home 1-0 and have a average Europa campaign, should win the league still but with everything so wrong in scottish football right now Rangers and Celtic should just forget the CL, we just cant attract the players to play at such a level as the money just swells in the pockets of the bigger teams every season due to new tv deals, so unless we get some rich arabs, bill gates and all the other billionaires to invest in Celtic then we just can't do it at that level anymore.

what i didnt understand at all is why we had a 5 man midfield and decided to play the long ball and miss out the midfield all together.

    also, mulgrew looks *.

I think it's mainly the part about us being *.

We'd better make * good use of these friendlies Saturday and Sunday and play like a team possessed next Wednesday. Incredibly tough job ahead but not impossible. A bit of luck would be nice, for us, for a change.

I think the pre-season preparations have been much too short now for such an important game, and with this US travel the team has been been more on the road than on the pitch.... the team must get together much earlier for pre-season training to be in good shape.

Before this recent debacle, I didn't like the idea of two friendlies in between Champions League qualifiers. But after?? I'm thanking heaven. We desperately need the bhoys getting more game time together.
