    The simple answer is money.

Perhaps for the local lads like Mulgrew, McGeady, O'Dea etc there is more to it than just money but for most of the foreign players they are here for the dough. Simple as.

If it were fans then pride, but sad to say foriegn players it is the money and a stepping stone to bigger leagues, sometimes even our home based Celtic men were found wanting no TBs,JDs,JJ, or just the whole Lisbon Lions that is our history.

Imagine....being in the dressing room....all around you the smell of liniment, the sound of clacking studs on floor tiles, then you pull over your head the sacred, precious, famous Celtic jersey...you sit on the wooden benches around the dressing room and silence falls for the manager's team talk...after five minutes the Boss finishes with "You are playing for Celtic...it's more than just a game of football, you are playing for those people"...the dressing room door swings open and you hear 60,000 sing You'll Never Walk Alone...you walk up the tunnel...the signing gets louder...you walk out of the tunnel to an amazing stadium with seats up to the sky...all around you is a dizzying sight of green and white scarves and flags...you look up to the main stand and you see the celebs, the millionaires and the billionaires...you look over to the jungle and you see the faces of the people...the one's you are really playing for...the faces who's anscestors have had to endure oppression, starvation, exile, near genocide of their people but through it all have triumphed in the face of adversity...have scaled the heights and overcome...you feel their passion...the atmosphere sizzles...you converge with your teammates into the huddle...the ref blows...the ball is placed on the centre spot...the roar deafens...the excitement is at fever pitch...no where on earth is like this...

Millions would pay to experience that... never mind get paid for the honour and privilage of playing for the greatest club on earth.

Have to say, when Lenny got the job I expected loads of British type players arriving...I am pleasantly suprised that Lenny has a personality and passion for Celtic that can encourage young players from all corners of the globe to join Celtic.

    A South Korean

    A Mexican

Possibly an Isreali and a Frenchman

Plus two young British players that were much sought after in Ledley and Hooper...

    Great work Lenny...

I think people, especially foreigners, join us as they see us as a stepping stone to England. Scottish boys, and Irish boys, who know what its about to play for Celtic, I think, are fulfilling a lifelong ambition/dream.

Pretty sure he said he would like to play against spurs and score as they dropped him as a young boy.
