I'll be fecking gutted if he goes for anything like £4 million. I'm not his biggest fan but I know he is a fantastic player.

I don't mind seeing him go but £4 million is laughable and it might say a lot about hoopers character if he goes to Hull. He has scored goals frequently over the last few years including in the Champions League so with all due respect to Hull he can do a lot better

If we get a good enough transfer fee for him he could go anywhere and I could care less.

No one will offer around £8m for him, his contract is up next year. It's best to sell him this summer, don't want to lose him on a pre-contract

    Exactly:50:

This is why he's not in the same bracket as Stan Petrov for me, who signed an improved deal to get Celtic a decent transfer fee for him :50:

If he feels like he can do a great job at Hull, it could work out for him. 38 games in one of the best leagues in the world.

Plus any bonus cup runs etc..

If we don't make it to the group stages this year then he might feel this is the best way to get proper attention.

It's always a risk, But he'll no doubt be paid more for it.

If he went to hull I'd be amazed.

I do think he will leave this summer, not bothered about the transfer fee but he deserves better. He's already at a great club so putting things into perspective; most teams are a step down barring the wages.

For some reason I kind of do care where our top players go, can't really explain it tbh :smiley-laughing002:

I don't really care mind about what club he goes to as long as it's for no less than £6 million.

Is £5m that bad for a guy in the last year of his contract? Naw.

But considering 20% gets whacked off us right away, yes.

    Push for 7.

Can't imagine he would want to join a team that will most likely be fighting for relegation next season over a team fighting for trophies and in the UCL.

More money and probably has a better shot of an England call-up playing there!

It's all about what the players want out of their careers. If Hoops and Big Vic want to go down to the BPL and sign for clubs that have little hope of winning anything then that's up to them but I mean come on, they are already on more a week than the vast majority of people make in a year. If they did go I would be gutted but I'm sure we could make a tidy profit on them, then we just have to put our faith in Lenny and the backroom staff that they know what they're doing and can find suitable replacements, plugging away with the signing policy that has seen our success rocket. The choice is simple, stay and become Celtic legends like Larsson etc. or sell yourself to the highest bidder, I know what I'd choose but then I am a Celtic fan.

Do not sell to English clubs. Italian or German bidders-yes. And tell Hooper to opt for Scotland. English managers/media think he's pish.

I dont understand why Hooper doesnt just sign a new deal with us, stay for next season & then Celtic can cash in on him next season & get way more than the £4mill Hull are offering. The reason I say this is cos hes on what 82-83 goals for Celtic? He may not care now but at the end of his career to be named in the Hall of Fame at Celtic of players who have scored more than 100 goals would be a great achievement for him, one more season isnt going to harm him & Celtic can get something out of it aswell. Another chance for him to try win a treble & play in the Champions League, cos if he goes to a mid side Premier League side, lets face it the only medals he will have to look back on when he retires is the ones he won at Celtic, theres nothing stopping him breaking into the England side if he plays well at Celtic this season & with him having a longer contract we could ask for £8-9million for um, so works out for everyone, Wanyama I dont think we can keep, but surely the aim of hitting 100 goals for Celtic would be enough for him to stay & try & achieve, he wont be a legend but will go down as one of the all time great goalscorers & that has to be an honour for any player

Let him leave next season for nothing. If we qualify for the Champions League with his goals then we make more money than we would by selling him now in the last year of his contract.

I'd take 6-7m for him. If he doesn't want to be here let him go, we'll be fine :celt_2:

This is probably quite relevant considering Hull's £4m bid for Hooper: Celtic Journal - The realisation of Celtic's current financial climate
    http://celticjournal.org/the-realisation-of-celtics-current-financial-climate/

We could've sold for £7m at his peak and didn't. Now, £4-6m is the most we'll receive and I'd much rather sell for that than lose him for free next summer. That money could pay for one or two new equally as good players.
