Not sure if anyone has posted this but supposedly big Johan has been saying Hooper should stay and be a legend like Larsson.

only way they sign new deals would be to hike price up,same thing happ with petrov signed new deal and then sold months later or less

Asked this on the transfer rumour bit but where does everyone think the money will go if he is sold for £10m ? No debt, and with a minimum of 2 CL games coming up.

Personally any money we get from players this transfer window won't be used to strengthen the squad right now. I feel the board won't feel the need to reinvest it all.

I think if Hooper does go we will get another striker in, but i think the spending if we will, will happen in the summer.

6M for Ki, 20M+ champions league + whatever we get if Hooper goes - 7M+.

This money will go towards wiping out our debt and then the rest will be banked and i can see this summers spending being a little bit higher than usual, maybe a budget of around 5-10M.

If wanyama goes for 10-15M then our budget will increase probably by another 5 million.

Money will be saved just in case we don't make it to the group stages again next year, its a sensible thing to do and it means if we do make the CL again next season then come January time we will have a sizeable budget with which to invest.

This is the only logical, sustainable way forward for the club. It's not as exciting as some folk want but it's the only thing that makes sense. We need to keep buying low risk, high reward players like Hooper, Wanyama, etc and turning them for a profit. I feel confident that the current management will keep to our spending structure and we've got enough football-smart people (Lenny, John Park, etc) to keep the results on the field consistent.

Disappointing if our final offer didn't match his demands. Would love to keep him but as I said I'd be happy to let him go if we tied him down on a deal that meant we got a value that more truly represents his talent. If that is our final offer no doubt we'll be trying hard to flog him ourselves come the summer, also, the fact this has been made public, if true, is going to hike interest in him you'd think.

Deserves to be on par with our higher earners, I'd be disappointed if Celtic didn't offer into that category.

He wont have any contract demands, he just wants to move to the Premier League to break into the England squad. We could offer him £50k a week and he probably wouldnt sign a new deal as unless hes playing in the Premier League this time next year he wont be going to the World Cup.
