He should get his chance for England and I guarantee he will take it. When he is playing as he has done in the last few games he is both a goalscoring machine and a flawless link up player.

The most underrated player we've had here for years. Have always said he has this level in him, to be a genuinely top-25 European centre forward and been shot down. He's been branded 'lazy', etc, by some on here, but I've got no doubt (and I've said it when he's been playing badly) that he's the best centre forward we've had here since Henrik by a country mile. And with more to come. We'll be lucky to hold him beyond this season, but we'll make an absurd profit on him when he does go.

Can't label him better than Sutton or Hartson yet but essentially, I agree.

Hooper and Rooney together would be some partnership. Would feed off each other very well

Anyone doubting his all round game or calling him lazy from now on obviously doesn't have a clue about football

A terrific performance from him tonight, he's really hit form and I can see him scoring over 30 this season if he stays injury free

    Hooper for England :50:

This is what im really starting to dread. I don't want him to go anywhere cause we cant replace him. He is like 2 strikers in one ( no fat jokes ).

Its only a matter of time before the EPL take him away from us. If they will pay 14 million for Stevie Fletcher....how much will they pay for Hooper ??? 15 - 20 million ???

Getting dropped against Benfica has done him the world of good. It gave him the kick up the * he was needing. Absolutely love Hooper as a player, very strong, holds the ball up well and knows where the back of the net is. His contribution last night was incredible. Great finish for his goal, and brilliant awareness when setting up Forrest. And of course, playing his part in there red card.

You're right, he wasn't 100% which showed when he came on.

I hope (even though I will never support England) when he gets his chance he gets a better one than Thommo ever did. One game isn't enough.

I'll be very happy for him if he gets an england call up, but unfortunately I think it will mean the end of his Celtic career.

An England team with Hooper and Rooney up front is a team to fear!

I really hope for Gary he gets called up.

We realistically cannot expect to hold onto this lad. A 10 million bid will be in in next to no time. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Class, class class performance and I have ALWAYS been a fan, since his Scunny and Southend days. My mate is a Southend fan and Celtic sympathiser and said he knew he'd go far.

Great performance last night. I hope he gets capped. It'll increase his transfer fee and hopefully stop him from leaving for a * bottom-half team like Reading, Soutthampton, etc. in search of an international call up.
