McGeady cup tied in Europe if he plays on Wednesday night?

Right?

McGeady always said himself that he wouldn't leave unless a big enough club came in for him, would be a bit of a surprise if such a club was one that wasn't in any sort of Euro competition.

If we play him on Wednesday night it could be an indication that no one is willing to match our valuation of him yet and he may have to wait for another transfer window. He's a few years left on his contract yet so his value won't necessarily be affected by that side in the next year or so.

 

I'm really hoping that with the influx of new players, McGeady finds some sort of new love for the club...

But then again, if he doesn't... it's always money to find players who will fight to the death for the badge.

 

If he's planning on going down south then I doubt any teamin the champ league will be looking at him...im pretty sure if hes cup tied for the champions league he's still able to play in the europa cup for a different team which mean she could play in it for villa if he does end up there

I thought even if you played in Champions League, you are also cup-tied for Europa League. Basically once you play for one club, you cannot play in any European competions again in that season...

I can totally see him going there. It's well-known that the big Russian clubs like to snap up players from smaller leagues, play them a year or two, then sell them on to the EPL.

If Aiden wants to play for a major EPL club, but no-one is in for him because he's only ever played in the SPL, then Spartak could be a great choice. Champions League Group stage too.

 

not quite. I think that used to be the case but not anymore.
say if you play in the group stages of one competition, you can play in the knockout stages of another competition in the same season.

so if a players plays the group stages of the europa league for one team, he can be signed in january and play in the knockout stages of the CL league for another team.

 

Lots of money floating about there as well and its practically tax free, Arshavin was complaining at how different it is to the UK.

My heart wants him to stay but my head says that maybe his time is up, the Ross County coach incident and too many stinking performances might just be enough to suggest he needs another challenge away from Celtic Park.

 

I thought that Mcgeady would go to villa if milner was sold to man city but i am not sure if that will happen now as city are going to offer shaun wright phillips as part of the deal to get milner to city.
