What the * are you smoking did you just make that up? Gotta love random speculation....

Aye it was in the Daily Record eday that Adu "wouldnt rule out a move" as we have the CL behind us but he also mentioned he'd want to play in England or Italy or Spain so he probably sees us as no more than a stepping stone...

Of course it would be a stepping stone.

And a good investment, buy for 4 million and sell for 10-15 million.

He has no intention of coming to us, he was just being diplomatic when asked an awkward question.

Why do we need to wait until he's 18?

Celtic play in one of the most widely regarded p2ssiest league in the world, yet still have a supporter base regarded even by certain FIFA and UEFA Nike and Umbro business people and hierachy as second to none.
    numbers dont lie,
Nike want Celtic in the EPL they have the clought to make it happen

Adu may come to celtic to put himself in the shop window as he will not play in chelsea or real's first team for a year or two, he'll play in the champions league then leave.

Or he might stay in America and do the exat same. People believing he'll come to Celtic are in la la land. However, I'm quite willing to get proved wrong.

I think Adu will probably go to a team like PSV or Ajax to get playing time in an easy league, also play in Champions League. So if PSV or Ajax could sign him why not Celtic. Then when he is 21-22 Adu will go to Chelsea or Real Madrid.

Look, I know about Freddy moreso than many of you, met him in person a few times even.

His contract with DC United is up in a year. And Celtic would e a great fit for him.

Moeny-wise, He is managed by advisors who know that being a big deal at Celtic will be more lucrative than sitting bench at someplace like Real. Like I said before, many of his endorsement contracts would follow with him if he were able to maintain better exposure in the SPL. And without a doubt, he would be able to secure better UK endorsements if he is a starter, and major goal scorer with Celtic.

The MLS cannot afford to keep him, with the strict salary caps in place there is no realistic way that they can increase his 500K/yr salary (US Dollars)

So wait and see, but those that totally discount the idea need to look at where most americans have tended to end up when they head across to play in Europe. Freddy might attract a lot more interest than Renya or Beasely, or McBride, but America has yet to produce a star withthe kind of career horsepower to catapult them into the High Dollar clubs.

Freddy plays at Celtic for a few years, and kicks * while there, then he could go wherever he wants. He plays at Celtic, and starts, then he will gain the international experience that should guarentee him a starting spot onthe US Men's National Team roster (esp since Bruce Arena is leaving).

i am biased as a fan of both Celtic and DC United, but I see Freddy at Celtic as a much stronger possibility that many of you think.

    Work Permit?

It would be good for Adu to come to us, he could learn the British way of football and develop both techically and physically.

It is to do with a law regarding trafficking of children I think. I read it somewhere but now I can't find it to check exactly what it was called.
