Deffo. Oasis are the reason i picked up a guitar, but they wouldnt exist if it wasnt for the best band of all time. Of course i mean the Stone Roses :50:

yeah they can...if you get to number#1 does it mean your any good? cos you sell out stadiums does that mean your amy good?...bon jovi do it for christ sake....so they must be good right?...oasis are just a glorified tribute band that rode on the back of the roses and the mondays....after the 1st 2 albums what have they done? stuck with the same old boring tried and tested pub rock formula....

Fair play you can be big without being good, but im talking about when before Oasis were massive. When Definitely Maybe just came out the excitement it caused was something that only a few bands have ever created, then their second album made them massive and they went downhill the same as every band does at some stage. But at one time they captured what music is all about and for that i will always be greatful.

P.S. theyre * all like the Mondays!

Not sure if their the best band, but have definantely been one of the best bands. I mean, some of the lyrics to their songs...who else could sing some of that and still make it sound good?

they f*cked themselves over by mincing it with Mr blair, doing coke and getting hooked up with goldiggers...their music suffered cos they got rich and lazy and they are just a flash in the pan...no more no less....bunch of hype!

They had every right to do whatever they wanted, and they never once lied about what they were in it for - to be filthy rich. Whats wrong with that? They grew up as skint as i did, and pure belief and determination got them there - the vast majority of the population give up on their dreams, whereas Oasis laugh at anyone who criticises them for achieving theirs.

i don't respect people who are quite happy to sell out their working class roots to become filthy rich...the people who do that suffer and if your a musician your music will suffer...studio wise there crap(they had death in vegas producing their last album but dropped them) probably becuase they were scared of a new direction and thought f*ck it...we can still record crap records and they'll still sell like hot cakes and will keep us living in Hampstead along the other showbiz tossers.....and they aint all that good live anyway...and if you think they are you should really get out a bit more!

Hahaha theyre worried about you tho int they? Who are you to tell them who produces their albums, where they live, who they hang about with or any other * thing? Theyve earned the right to live how they wish because they've touched peoples soul's (lol how apt) for years. OK im not really into what theyve been doing recently but i still go see them live (im at 7 just now, twice in Manchester) and i'll still buy their albums - for the simple fact they wrote one of the best debut albums in history and will always have my respect regardless of what nick they end up in.

Its the same as The Stone Roses. I think they wrote THE best album ever made, failed to release one soon after (what should have been Turns Into Stone), dissappeared for five years and came back a shadow of theyre former selves. Doesnt matter what happened after the '89/'90 era, the records are there and are part of history, and no one can take away what they achieved. So there :37: lol
