celtic next year will be a better team over anyone else. hearts will sign another 11 lithuanian players and rangers have no more money to spend. we in the other hand have a manager who knows the areas in the team that needs sorting out and we also have a sale of petrov to come off so whats in the bank to spend prob about £3m and sale of petrov £4.5-£5m.

£8 million..... surely a few good signings.

if we dont use this sort of money then start asking questions of the board. its not gordon strachans fault he has had to let go hartson as i belive the board dont want to spend in excess of £20 grand a week on players.

we have a situation where we have to build a new team that is good enough for spl and cl but lets be honest cl is just a dream as we will never win it.

i reckon we have quite a good team here by far best in spl and if we win spl next year a cl spot again.

we are never going to be as big as the bigger clubs in europe so why dont we kind of wake up a bit and except what we have got

I think Rangers signings stand up against ours. Sionko was in the Czech squad, Svensson was in the Sweden squad, Clement played 20 games for Lyon last season.... You could also argue that they have a good average age. Hearts may not have to buy too many players, they have the nucleus of a decent team. It will be difficult next year

It will be difficult if we don't bring in quality.

Positive thinking mate, canny beat it!

I would like to see a quality defender and striker signed before the CL deadline and I'll be satisfied that we can have a wee go in Europe. Strachan knows what he has to get anyway, it's just not straight forward as some think.

    Mon the Hoops!!

What worries me about GS is that there's speculation he might offer Dion Dublin a new contract.

A strike force of Magic, Miller, Beattie and Dion doesn't impress me at all.

IAm not worrying about the strikers they are good but am worrying about is the defence we need a left back and a experienced but not to old midfielder in replacment of keane for the champions league

Rangers will take at least a couple of months to all gel together too many new signings look at Chelsea for example all Celtic really need is a Left Back and maybe a Striker.
    Celtic Champions 06-07.

There nowt wrong with having a big player up front. At times when the game needs winnining the ball needs throwing in the box. At the mo' we don't have a player who can regularily win the headers. I think DD would be a good option if GS is struggling to replace BBJ. Lets face our new clutch of "strikers arn't the tallest.

Sionko was in the squad because of an injury to another player and the Sweden squad is full of championship players, so it doesnt say much for Svensson. Clement is their best signing so far but was he a strong or weak link in the good Lyon team??

It will be difficult but the mass negetivity is largely based on the theory the grass is greener on the other side

Im fairly confident about our strikers...Miller Magic Beattie Riordan. Think we need to strengthen the defence though, a left back and a new centre half wouldn´t go a miss. A new left back means we can play Wilson in his stronger right back position. Also, a new centre midfielder if Petrov leaves. Think we have the quality to win the SPL and do half decent in the CL group stages, but we need to strengthen if we are to progress in the Groups.

I think our defence, is our weakness, telfer, camara, and varga are not good enough, especially for the champions lge, balde is out injured for a few months, and kennedy is just back from a serious injury, and he may not be the player he once was, so whats left wilson and mcmanaus.

Caldwell is still their mate. Think Mick and him can make a good partnership, then Balde will have to battle to get back into the team, which is good IMO. Then if we sign a left back, stick Wilson to the right i´ll be happy.

I'm a big fan of buying another CB. ALthough this won't happen now as Varga has signed a new contract.

Must admit IMO Gard Caldwell has looked good in the 2 friendly games, though.

We wont sign a new CB as we have Mick Caldwell Balde Kennedy and Varga, don´t think we need a new CB with those 5. Think a defence of *New Left back* Balde Mick/Caldwell/Kennedy Wilson could be good for us. Still hoping that the Celtic board will stump up for Kadlec.
