I don't think we have any players that are over 30 the now. Maybe MAF is

So i don't think it would be such a bad thing. It was obvioulsy something that we lacked last year

Cha Du Ri - an unknown quality. i didn't see much of South Korea's matches unfortunately. never heard of him before this.
Mulgrew - we know what we're getting. solid left back and a dead ball threat. whenever i've been at a Celtic Aberdeen match, i've always heard those around me commenting that they would like him back in the hoops.
Ledley - haven't seen much of him but he is highly rated.

i don't think we need to buy a keeper. it seems i'm in the minority of having faith in Zaluska to be number one at our club. would be perfectly happy to have Cevi as number two. he is of the standard to fill in when needed to. how many games were we forced to play Zaluska last season? as for third choice...surely our strongest youth goalkeeper will suffice?

we need, in order, a striker, a centre back and defensive midfielder (looks like it'll be Juarez). anyone else from now on who leaves will need to be replaced (eg McGeady, Samaras etc).

with some of the players though that we are looking at that are the wrong side of 30 it's more about their actual cost to club fair enough one or two of them may be good players to a point, but my argument is with any older player not matter how good they are when they are of the ages 33+ is it really smart having to pay so much money in wages and then say next season having to then go find another player continously each time, to me it just seems silly.

for example friend asks (as we were talking about campbell) would you not take drogba for 1 season and pay him big money if it were actually possible, personally i said no as fair enough he would help us big time with the league and CL but why should we have to rely on that type of player so much that when he leaves we will struggle the next season to find anything like it

Cha - looked good in WC and won't take as long to adapt as Ki as he comes from the Bundeslige.
Mulgrew - Free, decent cover. Not first choice LB
Ledley - Has looked good when I've seen him and everything sounds promising about him. Bags of experience at club and international level and still only 23. Could be one of the best signings we've made in ages.
Juarez - Tough midfielder who also looked good in the WC. 22 and over 20 international caps for Mexico. He must have something about him. Another signing which could prove to be one of our best for a while.

    Still need (listed in priority)
    New Striker
    New LB
    New CB
    New Striker

we need a cb more than a lb mate, and we also need a keeper.

Not to fussed about a keeper. Think Zaluskas got no.1 and Cervi can have til Jan to see if he's good enough No.2, we must have bought for a reason.

We don't imo have a first choice LB and if it is Mulgrew then we have absolutely no back-up. Problem position for too long now, we need to sort it and get it right.

I think we need another LB. Misun will not do for this position. Read Combene's summary of both him and Hinkel in the Philadelphia thread. What we found out last night was that team has deficiences and would never win the league. Can't wait for Cha Du Rei to take over at right back, and bomb out Hinkel. If Mulgrew gets injured, like he did last night, then we need another left back.Juarez can play right back too so we are covered there, but I can't think of anybody else who can play left back well enough.

Not the best sense. McGeady is 6 years younger, and isn't too far off Keane's transfer value currently. Hold onto the Irishman for a season or two more, and then sell him - if we must. Not signing Keane was good business. We're better spending big money on a younger striker.

Looking Good So Far. Very Sensible Signings.
    Striker Needed Next.
    Then a Centre back.
    Then another Striker.
Then possibly another Centre back or Cheap Goalie.

I don't really know much about Juarez did anyone really notice him during the world cup ?

Well over it with Ledley though i think he'll be fantastic in the SPL, we do need an out right striker though none of this "he's a striker that dosen't score many goals " pish

Mulgrew - Not sure on this one, maybe a bit mediocre.
Cha Du Ri - Never heard of him, will need to wait and see.
Ledley - Not seen him play much, not sure about all this hype either.
Juarez - This one looks good.

Still needed, in order of priority:
    Tried & trusted striker
    Centre half
    Creative midfielder
    Left back

A goalie would be nice, although not badly needed.

Looking at the list of strikers over in America just now it worries me how little goals are there. Sammy is our most prolific hitman ffs ! We're crying out for a Keane. Maybe not him but someone who can hit 20+ goals a season. In my time following Celtic we've always had that kind of striker. If we dont bring in a quality hitman i'll be very worried about were the goals are coming from. We get very, very few form midfield as well.

Strachan cut through MON's team when he took over, made it his own. Mowbary done it to an extent and now Lennon will do it. Lennons though is not a complete overhaul as there are good players at CP who just need a good manager. All managers need there own teams as its the team they put out that they get judged on.

Du-RI Cha is not very good, have seen him over here in Germany for many a years now, might be okay for the SPL but not for European matches.

Hope he will surprise me and plays better than he does in recent years
