i think he's right...why do we bend-over backwards to help put money into the pockets of other clubs....and he's right about the 90 mins aswell :86: Alan Thompson fears Celtic's gruelling world tour could jeopardise their hopes
    of silverware this season.
The midfielder spoke as the players moved from Warsaw to Krakow on the latest
leg of a marathon tour which takes them to the United States next week then
Japan between the first and second games of the new Bank of Scotland Premier
    League season.
Gordon Strachan's team also have friendlies at home against Everton and
Manchester United and a trip to Chelsea.
Thompson said: ``I don't know what input, if any, the manager had when the
schedule was put together but it does seem particularly long.
``Going to Japan isn't ideal and our complete programme seems too much.''
But the 32-year-old is not complaining after having slipped out of favour
    under Strachan last season.
Thompson said: ``You simply can't let any of it have an effect on you.
``There must be no toys coming out of anyone's pram while we understand that
this is what we are paid to do, even if it's far from ideal.
``I shouldn't really be complaining about going to Japan in any case, because
I'm more likely to get a full 90 minutes there against Yokohama Marinos than I
    am in a league game.''

Maybe if Thompson started putting in performances that merited a game then he might get 90 mins in the league. Thats typical Thompson making smart comments. What does he do on the pitch, try to be a hardman and get sent off . *.

Don't hold back now Rymo :56: i thought he would have been let go by the club...he's on a fair old wage and i don't see why he's still about as he's well past it...probably there to make Lennon/Dublin look good perhaps??

There's nothing wrong with the schedule. These players are on megabucks and their fitness should be high anyway.

Stop moaning about the games and get on with it.

Exactly.:50: These are professional football players who train every day and are paid to play. I have to laugh when players moan about having to play more than once a week.

His attitude is *. He has no hunger. I would rather see him out of the club.

We'd have to compensate him, they could mutually agree on a price or Celtic pay him the wages of the remainder of the contract.

We are overdoing the friendlies a wee bit IMO but Thompson should be doing something for his £30,000 a week instead of moaning!

No one can argue that Thompson shouldnt be at Paradise and that hes way below the standard a Tic player shoud be at. But * sake, the guy has told no lies! He had the clubs best interests at heart when he said they shouldnt be flying all over the place so claose to the start of the season. All he said was he would hate to see a repeat of two seasons ago where the team were worn out by the end.

The guys taking on the chin the fact that he cant get a game anymore, and hes making * jokes about it. A lot of players would take the huff, in fact the vast majority would take the huff.

That said, i hope he gets released before the start of the season, for his own careers' sake as well as our clubs bank account's.
