Wouldn't have scored if we played all night, why play a pre-season friendly and not have a go plus there was plenty of attacking players on

Yes Legia and Wisla have played one or two games already, but they are still out of shape. They are starting preparations for the new season. There wasn't few key players in both teams (especially in Legia). There was a lot of substiututions in Wisla during the match (11?).
So I think Celtic perfomance is quite dissapointing. There wasn't diffrence in skills. Of course that Polish players could be faster and stronger but their technical skills wasn't worse.
One year ago Legia played against Bayern. They (Bayern) wasn't prepared for season yet but they win 3:1. Of course Bayern is high level team but it shows that Celtic is nearer top Polish teams than top German teams and this is not good.

I'm disappointed we lost both polish games but it's about getting everyone fit and i'd rather lose now than when the real business begins. Hopefully back 2 back defeats will make the players more determined to win the next game. I'm a little down (as always wen the Hoops lose) but theres no need for panic yet.

we will start to win in the usa we will have more first team players on and our players will be kind of in shape but since strachan took control celtic hav'nt been able to get fitness quick remeber artmedia then we beat then 4-0 so we can't really say we need other people in untill 2-3 games as previously said its better losing the now than when it counts so I will be looking for some good celtic preformances in the usa and against everton man u and them

Who was missed in Legia except Edson ? Did you forget about Wisla's 4 players who took part in the World Cup and didn't play yesterday ? So it looks that Wisla had more players missed.

Anyway question to Celtic fans: Which polish team looked better in your opinion ?

that was * dreadful - we didnt even have a shot on goal! i dont care if its a pre season friendly or not that was not the type of performance we expect from a celtic team.

this tour has been a total waste of time and anyone who says its about improving the fitness of the playes, then look at those who played, the majority of them wont be anywhere near the first team (or at least they * better not be) so whats the point going all that way just for pre season training for the stiffs - just have them play diddy teams like st mirren or somebody and stay at home.

caldwell, mulgrew, wallace, lawson are not celtic class. and why the * after a year at the club are telfer, camara and virgo still being aloud to play for celtic when even a blind man could see the 3 of them are * *!!

before anyone comes on and tells me to came down and it was only a friendly dont bother cause thats no excuse. a guy sitting in front of me at the sporting lisbon game last year told me the exact same thing while i was shouting at stan varga for costing us the 2nd goal - a week later he was doing the exact same thing as we were getting pumped off a pub team from slovakia.

i dont care if its afriendly or not that type of performance is not acceptable from a celtic team.

and get petrov to * NOW - that wee * is not interested in playing for us anymore!!! *

That's true, but if you compare Legia's squad from one year ago to the current one you will notice that only a few players (two or three?) remained on the team since then. A lot of things have changed in Legia during the last year and a lot of the old players have been replaced with better ones. One year ago Legia didn't have Roger, Edson, Burkhardt, Bronowicki, Gottwald, Rodavic, Elton or Hugo Alcantara and the level of playing has been drastically lower. Now it's a totally different ball game.

I'm not saying this to make anyone feel any worse, but we had a lot of key players missing, too. This is just friendlies and very early ones indead, so the score doesn't really matter at all. We (Wisla) played 3 games against some Italian * teams, which our coach (Dan Petrescu - some probably remember him playing for Chelsea not so long ago) treated more like a normal training and not real matches. This was our first real friendly match. Overall Wisla was better than Celtic today, but both teams played bad and it just shows how early in the preparation they both are. Someone asked whether Wisla made many substitutions. Yes, there were many, and a lot of players where very young players who you don't normally see on the bench during league games. I guess Petrescu wanted them to get the chance to play against such a big team as Celtic to boost their morale, but also simply to test them. Our key players missing today were:
    Sobolewski
    Baszczynski
    Dudka
    Pawel Brozek

All of them played in the World Cup, so they still r'nt in training.

Celtic has many supporters here and a lot of sympathy. You could see quite a few Celtic shirts mixed in with our supporters. Many people hope that Celtic will perform well in the CL and Zurawski will score many beautiful goals.

Some of you were asking about Zurawski and why he didn't start. Zurawski was also in Germany for the World Cup - unfortunatelly his performance was well under his normal level - but more importantly, he hasn't been training for 2 weeks now and it was even questionable if he will play at all today. In his last interview for the Polish press he said, that he is affraid to get injured if he plays without training for a longer period of time. I guess he played only because the crowd really wanted to see him for a few minutes, just to thank him for all the goals and the 6 years he was here and to cheer him on probably for the last time. Thanks Zuraw.

looks like the same happens every year. we lose almost all our pre-season friendlies. but im not that worried to be honest.

question to legia fans: has Burkhardt got a swiss father or grandfather?

As a Wisla supporter I'm very happy that my team has won! As a Celtic supporter I'm disappointed with our player's performance.... but still happy that I've seen them live! It was fantastic day... my scottish, english and polish friends and I had a great time before at and after the game.
Don't know if it was shown on TV but there was a great party on the whole Wisla stadium... like it often is here. After the game we were so f**** tired and all of us had a throat pain because of the singing for the whole 90 minutes. Great atmosphere ... even my friends from the isles who were on the stadium were amazed by the Wisla supporters!

I can forget the result... I can forget the pish play by Celtic... but I'll surely never forget that day! Thanks for the memories :50:

Winning your pre-season matches can sometimes paper over the cracks in the team. I prefer to be loosing the friendlies, keeps people on their toes for the competitive matches, they know they must perform to get a result.

GS knows the weaknesses in the team. He needs to get the players he wants now and give them time to settle into the team

Agreed. Losing these matches wont give us a false sense of security. Maybe missing so many first team players has been a good thing cos then GS may realise what pish he actually has in reserve, and gets on Lawells back to sign some quality.

yep agree with both above ,there are so many doom & gloom merchants on here ,winning friendlies 4-0 ,5-0 is that what you want ??? then lets go and play some sunday league side from finland or something ,a few years ago we were travelling up to play Highland league clubs to play friendlies .Be thankful we are playing half decent sides and seeing where the problems lie ..Believe me you will learn a lot more from your team losing 2-0 than your team winning 5-0 !!!!

its not the end of the world, its clear that strachans hands are tied , peter lawell is 2 blame for the lack of funds i can't beleive that there haggling over £300,000 on the kadlec deal telfer, wallace, thompson and camara should be told they have no future at the club.
