I'm very happy with the l;ay, we put on the reserve team and they did well, we had more chances, defence was shaky at times, but better than the beggining of last season. The lads didn't try much and still outplayed them most of the time. friendlies are not there to be won, they're for tuning the team seeing what's wrong and trying new things. The first match is always gonane be this way, and I'm happy with their play :50:

i know that this is only a friendly but even so our defense was *,the center back pairing of caldwood and mcmanus will be our starting pair for the start of the season and for the legia goal they were no existant. In saying that mcgeady looked good and miller made a few good runs but kept going offside.one person that really impressed me was the keeper they brought out in the second half, commanded the area well and was prepared to rush off his line also looked as calm as anything, seems bolton and arsenal are both checking him out and at the age of 21 could be a real steal

Are they at the same stage of pre season as us? I thought we were poor in comparison, the likes of Wallace, Telfer, Pearson amongst others cannot pass the ball 10 yards. McManus still looks a liability. Caldwell did ok as did Jarosik but the rest looked ropey considering they should be trying to catch the managers eye. McGeady still does not know when to pass. Marshall is just scary. Young Ferry showed promise.

As best as I could determine, as I didnt have the video streamlining as good as I would have liked, Celtic flow good and the ball on the ground, yet I saw the ball given away too easily, and players getting the ball taken off them when they were on a good run, also poor finishing or NO finishing I should say, Beattie could have rounded the goalie and didnt, Virgo missed a sitter, oh well we shall see long way to go.
Thompson should go, he has a vagrant ego that is dangerous, a stupid penalty give away, wonder who the * he thinks he is, get rid of him NOW! :38:

Yeah McGeady prob was our best player. I couldnt really make out his goal but apparently it was deffo onside, that linesman must have had a shocker! The commentators were slating him at one point lol.

The bottom line is, although its a friendly and its a matter of trial and error at this stage, i still like to see players wearing the hoops do a bit better than they done tonight. The defence especially, i really hope this is not a sign of things to come.

This " its only a friendly" is all well and good when in respect of fitness and result but after a couple of weeks off we should still have the same level of technique to control and pass the ball. Telfer, Wallace, McManus all were poor at passing but more worryingly our midfielders like Pearson, Lawson and McGeady gave it away time and again whilst our strikers couldn't keep it either. Hopefully a stronger side and performance to come on Thursday

Mcgeady always looked threatening. Beattie caused the defence all sorts of problems, getting into great positions although he lacked sharpness. At this stage that is promising. Not alot of positives other than those 2.

If there is anyone out there who believes Telfer, Wallace, McManus, Pearson, Camara, Virgo or Lawson are good enough for where we have ambitions to be then i'll be surprised. Tonight also showed certain people how much we need a BBJ-alike as it is neither Beattie or Millers game to hold the ball up. Marshall can go on loan in my opinion as McGovern looks no better/worse. Thompson is not at our level anymore. We have to learn from these games.

Why do ye have tae be so unbelivably critic and negative?? We were decent, we dominated play, even with a team composed intirely out of reserves. Pearson is a very good player and don't you dare criticise Lawson, who is part of the future of this club. If you wanted us tae play like * Barcelona today, then I get it why you're dissapointed.
