today's daily record (not the most reliable source i know) claims that if portsmouth new bid is rejected then petrov will consider his options and may well withdraw his transfer request.

my question is would you be happy with him playing for us again next season after all that has gone on?

i for one would certainly not be, as he would only doing it because we were not allowing him to move not because he wants to play for the club and imo we do not need anyone with that kind of attitude in our team let alone one who is picking up 30k a week for the inconvenience of doing so

30k - not true ! he is at 20k per week ... and is on that since short time ... for the first 3-4 years he's been at celtic he was one of the lowest paid players , and neither he complained , neither anybody of you ...

I want to see him transfed too , as i don't want to read anymore * commets on him on this forum ... Even if he goes to Portsmouth .

I think it will be good for Celtic to cash in and buy other players.

The Celtic team is changing hopefully for the better.

stan is the best player we have, he can play anywhere upfront, midfield, outwide, right back. id be delighted if he stayed.

Don't talk pish. He played well up front in one game, it didn't work the rest of the time. He spits the dummy out when shifted out onto the right, and he was hopeless as a fullback. Good midfielder, not great, easily replaced imo.

    Bye Bye ya greetin' *

    the way I see it:

he has been a great servant for many years now for celtic, he always gave his best and it was a nice time. its normal you need a change after so many years of success. he has won everything in scotland and we all know he got the abilities to play in a "better" league.

i only know if he leaves, ill wish him all the best and would like to say thank you for your effort. if he stays, I would be very happy to cheer on him again.

nice one Kerr....i'd have the guy no problem...he's been class for us and people on this board should know that instead of acting like they've been rejected by a bird cos he wants to do the off...he played fair by us and we didn't by him....give lennon a 4 year contract...would that make people happy?? :86:

if hes unhappy get him tae f*** , if he thinks pompey are a bigger club than celtic he's in for a shock, i dont want anybody that doesnt want to play for us, we really dont need him that bad anyway, would be good for champions league tho.

What games where you watching Chuck? I agree that Sulky Stan has been a good player for us over the piece, but for the last couple of seasons he's been nowhere near our best player.

I think im running out of ways to word my opinion on Stan 'the moan' Petrov so i'll keep it short and sweet - he is no longer welcome at Paradise and by the looks of this thread it looks as if im not the only one who thinks so. I deffo would not accept a cut price offer for him as he is a good (good, not great) player, so if we dont sell him id use him as backup to Jarosik and (hopefully) Gravesen.

The boy has made his feelings clear that he doesnt want to be here which to me is being a disruptive influence on the squad, and any good manager will tell u that disruptive influences must be brought back down to earth one way or another.

He has always been one of my favourites. I don't think asking for a transfer should earn him all this negativity, he has been a good servant to the club. If he goes, then good luck to him. If he stays then we should forget about the request and get back to supporting one of the better and longest serving members of our team.
    Petrov for captain.

Congratulations Marty on being the bigger man. Myself however will not be happy to cheer on the moaning *.
Watch out for him doing a Cadete and going back to Bulgaria claiming mental illness.

I would find it very hard to hate Stan after giving 7 years to the club & being 1 of our best players during that time. If he goes we will get a good fee for him & if he stays we have a good player for CL next season imo.

I dont really think anyones saying they 'hate' Stan Petrov (at least i hope not, unless they know him personally). Its as simple as this, if he doesnt want to play for us then get him to *, as many people have already said to the exact word.

bulgarian I've always liked you mate and no offence to you but put yourself in the Tims not Bulgarian position. How would you feel if Stan tells that he wants to play f.e. for Quatar because he needs something new and... bigger wages? I know it's quite unfair to compare NT to the club but for most of us Celtic is something... more... and it's always nerveracking when a player who was your idol wants to leave the club like that. And please don't tell me there's nothing wrong when player wants to leave just after signing new contract...

Anyway I wish him all the best but he'll never more be THAT STAN for me that I wanted him to be... sad but true

Would love Stan to stay, but if his heart's not in it, there's no point.
Would like to see this settled soon, get a decent transfer fee for him, around the 5M mark and get some more players in.
I'm surprised nobody apart from Pompey have put in a bid, sad reflection of how the SPL is viewed around Europe.
